Ok, so I watched a video tutorial on how to attach a scope/suppressor from the Infiltrator to something else in NifSkope. And I tried it out. It was actually pretty simple, just select the scope/suppressor part of the Infiltrator in NifSkope, copy branch open the Assault Rifle in Nifskope select the first line and paste branch. Then just move it into postion.
The last thing you do before you finish is edit the String Index of the scope/suppressor component in the new model. In the original Infiltrator this component is given the name "ScopeSilencer" I didn't know why this was so important but I did it and it worked just fine.
Anyway, later I decided to separate the scope from the suppressor, but you can only do that in Blender, so I got that and did it. And then used the scope on several weapons separate from the suppressor.
The problem is that in all of these new weapons I've edited in Blender or used parts on that I edited in Blender I'm getting major texture issues. Both in the Scope lenses and the magazines, but it's worst in the scope lense.
In all these weapons, everything edited in Blender or with the scope file I made in Blender, the lens reflection is all messed up. Some of them in the first person model the rear lens is just completely black, there's no texture there at all it literally looks like a black hole. On some of them there's a slight reflection of the sun, but the surface of the lens looks almost matte and you can make out the edges of the actual triangles of the material in the reflection it doesn't look actually rounded. Wheras the way it's supposed to look, you can't make out any triange edges ever, the surface looks really glossy like glass, the reflection of the sun is really crisp and it's not actually a mirror it wont reflect what's actually in front of it, like buildings behind the player the players face, specific things, but there enough shiny reflecty looking stuff there that it looks like an actual mirror like reflection even if you can't make anything specific out.
So why isn't Blender exporting the correct textures???
I'm hoping this is a relatively common problem with a common cause that's easy to fix.
Also with other models like some laser rifles I used the gauss rifle scope on, the exported .nif from blender is extremely glossy over the surface of the entire weapon instead of matte like the originals, and then again the scope lens is matte when it should be glossy. Whyyyyyyyyy?
