It was blocked off in the last patch for some reason, It needs a key which doesn't exist.

If you are playing the game on PC, simply open the console, click on the bunker's entrance and type unlock. That way you'll be able to enter the bunker . . .

I just finished the BoS quests (Still in the Dark & Eyesight for the Blind) and the Elder gave me a key that is supposed to grant access to their safehouses. I have not tried it yet, but this may be what you need to do.

They key is to the safehouse. The bunker is a totally separate location.

I'm really hoping this gets fixed, like, yesterday. It's the one goddamned thing in my game that really, really needs to be fixed.

I think it was a mistake when it got locked.

There is no way to open this bunker if you're on a 360 or PS3.

If you on 360. Delete the cache. Thus getting rid of patch. Go in bunker take what u need leave bunker save. Reinstall patch. Only way for 360. Damn you pc players

It's definitely the most important thing in the game, IMO.

Wow. I'm really surprised no one's figured this out yet.

In the 188 Trading Post (If you like exploring, you should find it on your way to Boulder City), you will find a girl named Veronica. She is a follower. She also says she LIVES IN A BUNKER!!!!!!!! Freaking recruit her and figure it out for yourselves!!!!!!!

DLC will be using this location... The Sierra Madre graffiti is a dead giveaway... Although you cannot see this since you've patched your game...

Well, it's obvious that you don't know what you're talking about.

Tactically I can see why it is called "Abondoned BoS Bunker".
With Caesar to the south and NCR to the north is it any wonder the BoS pulled out considerring they were still licking their wounds after the defeat by the NCR at the Archimedes Solar plant?
It is a wonder they did not give Elder Elijah the boot for the Archimedes debacle sooner.

Its a tiny little bunker aside from the skill book its utterly insignificant, there are other places they could add a door for the DLC.

The skill book is exactly why I want this stupid bunker unlocked. First playthrough I had planned my character around locating every skill book. When I found this place locked it blew up my plans (yes, 4 little points blew up my plans).

Now I just want the [censored] thing out of spite.

If that were the case, I think it would have been locked from the start, not suddenly locked in a patch. Besides, from what I know of the one currently announced DLC, my impression is that it's going to use mostly new locations, not original locations that were inaccessable.

So I'd say that most likely, they just made a mistake in the patch, and it will probably be fixed in the next patch... hopefully, anyway. Because if a patch that's suppsed to fix bugs introduces new ones that weren't in the game before (And I'd say a location that is supposed to be accessable but isn't due to it being "inaccessable" or using a lock that requires a key but for which no key actually exists, it is a bug. Sure, it's an issue with game design rather than a mistake in programming, but it's still a little screwup on the developer's part that makes something in the game not as it was meant to be.), then it's already a problem, and such issues should be fixed as soon as a new patch becomes available.

At the end of I Could Make You Care (Veronica's quest), the 4 BoS paladins confront you and you've gotta to what you've gotta do. Anyway, two of them had "Brotherhood of Steel" bunker keys on them. Possible that this would unlock the abandoned bunker in the east? Probably just for the Hidden Valley one, but I'm gonna try it later tonight.

You're probably right. Sorry I got so pissed, I got the game probably a little later after the patches came out, so I didn't really think that if so many people were complaining about it and not mentioning Veronica would mean that they just hadn't tried it.

I think it is possible that the bunker was intended for Elijah, who eventually cutted so the game can ship in time, and locked in the patch because they are adding him back in the up coming DLC.
