Abandoned house info? : Fallout: New Vegas

There is an abandoned house location west of Monte Carlo Suites and the Westside South Entrance.

Does anyone know if there are safe containers?

This is the house with the bomb in the mail box. Also a group of Fiends always spawns the first time you leave the house.

Ive heard that if the container is a dark shade of grey, it's not safe.( I don't necessarily believe this)
An easy way to test it would be to leave a non valuable set of weapons/ items in the containers your curious about and wait 3 or more days.
Make sure you wait in a location far away from the abandoned house, then go n check if your stuff is there.
