Ability to delete spells?

Post » Wed Sep 30, 2009 9:30 pm

I hated the fact that in Oblivion my spell book would be cluttered with spells less powerful than my main one, why not allow us to delete spells again?

I had to adopt a complicated alphabetical naming system when creating spells for console Oblivion. Obviously we should be able to delete spells again.

I vote yes, and if they don't implement it, I'll just download a mod.

Maybe just "hide spell" so you don't accidentally delete a spell that you'll need later?
I vote yes.

We definitely need an ability to delete, hide, or tag spells.

In OB, I appended "SB" (for Spell Book) to the front of any spell that I created.

Voted yes.

It seemed like such a glaring oversight by the devs. Not sure what the MO was, as they did so much to improve the magic system in Oblivion.

This. Or have spells scalable. So for instance, instead of "Unlock 40 points" it would just be "Unlock." If the lock is lower than your current alteration level (or some such) and you have enough magicka, it works.

What an oversight that was! This should definitely be brought back.

Another Hell yes.

I love creating spell and I love reusing the same name for a spell. I ended up with spell named "Firebolt 1", "Firebolt 2", etc....until I downloaded a delete spell mod.

Yes, but maybe keep the effects of the spell so that you can still make a fire spell if you get rid of fireball.

I voted no, because I'd much rather be able to hide spells. You never know when you'll need a weak spell in a fix, no reason to get rid of useful tools. So if we could instead hide spells to ease up on clutter, I'd be happy. The same goes for quests. There's nothing I hate more than a cluttered journal full of quests demanding I pay attention.

How about a spellbook where you can simply organize your spells? That way, the ones you want to use can be placed on the front page where your less powerful 'training' spells can be set to the back of the spellbook.

That way you'd still keep all the spells you learned/purchased but can decide which ones you want to have visible from your menu :)
