Would it be feasible to put fat people in the game for once, or would it be a drain to resources to remodel all the clothes to fit?

Considering we're going to be spending the game running/walking and fighting through legions of irradiated horrors, I don't think our character will be getting fat. If anything else, they may let us give our characters bulging biceps and pecs. Always wondered why my Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas characters looked skinny as a rail despite all the hours she spent running, walking, climbing, etc.
I reckon making a fat character should automatically give you a permanent -7 to agility and a permanent addiction to Fancy lads cakes and Nuka cola.
I wanna be able to make my character look like my avatar.
Fallout 3/NV's skinny ass dudes got boring. I hope there is an option for customizing your physique.
I would love to have the possibility. I never got to make a fat character in Skyrim.
Now I want to make a mod where the charcters physique changes based on activity levels. So I could start out fat and gradually lose weight and get in shape as I do more things. Sounds like more of a pain than it'd be worth though, and I know zero about creating mods.
It really would be nice to see characters of all shapes and sizes. It would make for a more interesting, diverse game world.
A fat character might make sense in Skyrim, where you can't wander ten feet without tripping over some sort of food or another. Seems out of place in the starved wasteland, though.
It would be really awesome if everybody didn't look the same. Tall, short, skinny, fat, etc., would be amazing.
And of course there are fat people in a post-apocalyptic world.
Well if my current NV character was cannibal and hated to waste food she would be very fat.
Yes. A fat nerd who can't talk to women.
My new character to roleplay with.
It would be pretty great; one of the only things I liked about ESO's character creator was the ability to make some pretty husky characters. I don't care about realism as much as I do characterization, and just seeing body diversity among the NPCs would really add to the setting. Not to mention I love making "mold-breaker" characters when I can; a short, fat badass or a tall and chiseled scientist.
I'd prefer if appearance was divorced from gameplay, though. Tying them together just gets people to make certain kinds of characters to game the system, and I don't think it adds anything substantial to role-playing.
It could add a lot of new and interesting complexity to the game. A system for heart disease and diabetes would make the medicine skills more useful, and chems would be more interesting if the amount needed varied with differing body mass. Slow moving fat raiders would be a lot easier to hit and more comical when they explode. Flimsy ramps and bridges made out of thin sheet metal could pose a hazard if put under too much stress. The possibilities are endless.
No. Resources in a vault would rationed since they are limited and on the surface even more so. No fatties. They would attract the attention of cannibals.
I'm hoping for this since oblivion, but since butchering their only diversity from their characters: taking out unique beast race skeletons/models; it's the same playmobil styled, copy paste character models paired with absurdly stiff animations for all.
How I wish to see a fat trader or mobster, a bulky mountain like melee raider or a small brittle engineer tinkering in their garage. Would add so much diversity, immersion and atmosphere to the game.
But sadly it won't happen this time around either. Its all there in the reveal trailer clear as day, same plastic char models with robot movements.
Not to mention that visible body for the PC in 1st person view should be a MUST at this day and age....
it would only make sense if fat characters were ones like a mayor in the safety of a walled city and who unfairly taxes the citizens. something like that. since in 90% of every ones situation they are just trying to get by.
Neither do radscorpion make much sense. The Fallout Universe is a universe of impossibilities.
Even an with an apocalyptic event on our world there would still be overweight people. It would be best to avoid them. Trusting them would probably prove to be a fatal error.
As for the technical aspects of putting them into game...
It would probably be easier to do it with NPC's than PC's. NPC's don't seem to change their cloths much. As a result, BGS would only have to make one purchase at the "Big and Tall" store to fully outfit that heavy set raider. As for a Player Character, that would entail quite a bit more work than for NPC's.
But just because it would involve additional work, does not mean that it wouldn't be done. Every game that BGS creates requires more work than the previous game, but that is all justified. What would prevent something like this from being put in the game is if BGS could NOT justify the additional work.
true, but he was a crooked crime lord who was clearly wealthy and not struggling to survive.
