ABOs mods

Good people of Cyrodil,

do you know if ABO's Realistic Levelling is compatible with OOO 1.33/1.34 beta 5? Because OOO incorporates slower level rates by Bofra, as I understand. Thus my slight hesitation to use ABO's. So if anybody could shed a little light on it, I would be very grateful. Thanks!


Its compatible, RL doesn't effect level rates, it will use the rates from OOO. RL should not conflict with anything except another Leveling mod, like NGCD.

As this thread has bubbled up to the surface again, I thought I would share a comedy moment caused by Realistic Fatigue.

I'd just started a new character, taken the insults from the Dark Elf opposite and stood against the prison cell wall as the Emperor and his escort arrived. As they strode confidently into my cell Baurus fell flat on his face

Hey ABO, there is a new OBGE (very alpha) that cleared up my problem with Realistic Health and OBGE debugged. Works great now. The omod script is only set for OBGE, and the new one is called OBGEV2, but that shouldn't be changed until V2 is at least beta.

Just adding some fan mail. I am using all your mods except Realistic Leveling (which I might use if I start a new game). They have added a lot to my enjoyment of Oblivion.

I think I'm having problems with realistic fatigue, I installed it using OBMM and used the recommended values.
But when playing the game, my fatigue immediately drops to 3/4 of the bar and only reduces when I jump,

Ps with this mod running, do I then still need to install Running Revised since this was somewhat based on it?

Make sure you have OBSE installed and working, though the fatigue drop suggests that it is. It sounds like the settings in RealisticFatigue.ini are not correct. Try deactivating and re-activating the OMOD, and selecting suitable settings. It might also be that the settings you have are way too generous (max fatigue recovery, min fatigue burn), though think that you should still see some fatigue burn from running. RF does not need Running Revised, and is not based on it, but in the very early stages of development was inspired by it. It is now a totally different thing, and though I would not recommend using them together, I have had reports from people that they do work together fine, giving you all the benefits of RF and adds RR's "sprint" feature.

Tommy_H: RL is 100% compatible with OOO. OOO's leveling adjustments change skill advancement rates, RL does not change skill advancement rates (unless you manually edit RealisticLeveling.ini) and bases attribute and level advancements on your skill advances.

XenoHellbalazer: That sounds promising... where is it? Will I need to update RH to use it, or is it a drop-in replacement?

The file OBGEV2.dll replaces OBGE.dll. Its very alpha. I've had no problems using it with RF, and now RH. The only problem is that your omod scripts look for OBGE.dll. I'm 200+ hrs into a great FCOM game with your mods. I started with RL + Tejon's Got No Class (Got No Link, Nexus is down, it removes class attributes), for RL's calculations, I started as lvl -8, its been one hard slog, but now I'm over lvl 20, great fun!

RL will correctly handle this situation, provided Oblivion correctly saves/loads active spell effects, which I believe it does. RL will recalculate your level/attributes/health on loading the game, but it also correctly compensates for any active spell effects, so it will get it right and the spell's health boost will stay there until the spell expires.

Argh. I'm experiencing the "I'm not levelling" problem. I know RL is the cause, though I strongly suspect there's another mod at fault. I played for about a year with no problems, then I cleaned up my load order and started a new game, and all of a sudden it doesn't want to work. :( I tried sqv aaRealisticLevelling; it says that I'm at 0.91 of the level, but my progress bar in the UI has stubbornly remained at 0. I checked the ini (yeah, I read through the thread first), and my max level is set to default. So... here's my load order; anyone have any ideas?

If you're at lvl .91, then you are below level 1 on a new game, correct? I don't think (but I could be wrong) the progress bar will move until you are over lvl 1. Level up a stat and then run sqv aarealisticleveling and see if you are above .91, if so then its working.

I leveled up several skills - that's why I was posting.

As it turns out, though, I found the problem: It was Ren's Guard Overhaul. When I was cleaning my LO, I upgraded from 1.78 to 2.0, then I had several problems, so I downgraded to 1.87. I thought I'd clean saved in between, but I guess I didn't. :shakehead: I probably wouldn't have caught it, except that I saw a "Bounty: 0 gold" message when I walked into Chorrol last night, which made me think of RGO. I disabled it, and suddenly I had level progress again! I saved, reinstalled, and the progress remained, so I think I'm good to go now. Yay me.

i am having a problem with leveling at all as well.

the sqv command says im level -9.11111111.

i have this problem even with no other mods present. :(

here is my long list of mods, however like i said it still doesnt work even if i disable EVERYTHING.

any advice/tips would be great!

Ok, I have been searching around all over the place and I found a few comments about if you reinstall Realistic Leveling more than once it will get stuck at negative levels. I have installed and uninstalled this mod like 10 times. lol

I havent found any comprehend able solution yet however. :(

Bumping this again... I have reinstalled Oblivion and ONLY added the Unofficial mods and then installed both RL and Darnified to see progress bar.

I still do not level up at all, nor does my progress bar move but I gain attributes every time from skill ups so part if it is working I guess.

I have installed the OMOD version using OBMM. I didn't bother posted my order list since its only the base masters and esp's added during game installation aside from RL and Darn which were BOSS ordered.

From the readme:
Since v1.7 the level progress meter on the stats menu will work correctly.Other UI mods like DarnUI can provide alternative levelup menus compatible with AFLeveling, KCAS,and RealisticLeveling. However these alternative menus are also normally bundled with alternativestats menus that remove the level progress meter. If you want to see the progress meter, do notinstall other UI mod's AFLeveling/KCAS compatible menus and install the levelup menu providedwith RealisticLeveling.
...which leads me to suspect one of the following:
  • You don't have the latest version of RL.
  • You have an alternative levelup menu from DarnUI installed.

what the heck is going on, i dont understand. >.<

this has been the problem the past 2 weeks and still wont work.

i have NO mods to conflict with it now either, so there is no reason for it to not work correctly. :(

Just to be sure ... did you install with OBMM and choose the generic settings?

Are you using with an existing character? Did you try with a new character?

setPCMajorSkillUps <NN>setPCTrainingSessionsUsed <TT>Where <NN> is the major skill advance count you want, and <LL> is the number of training sessions used you want.
This is from the section about uninstalling the mod, but it looks to me like you could use it where you are now to set both values to zero. Then, when you skill-up, you'll be going up from zero, so the status bar should move.

'Nother thing, you say you overwrote the darnUI xml with the RL xml menu file. Can you go into Data/menus and look at your levelup_menu.xml and then at your Data/menus/chargen/skills_menu.xml and see if you can verify for yourself that they are the correct files?

Failing everything else, to help you I need to know the value of a number of RL's variables. So do sqv aarealisticleveling and report them all here. This can easily be done if you install http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=26510. Post the entire output of RL variables within a codebox, and I can probably help you, as I have made changes inside RL a number of times.

Does anyone know how to increase the fatigue of a horse through a console command? I know ABO posted a method a couple of threads back as this was an issue with RealisticFatigue; well, I found an Imperial Legion horse lying crumpled on the ground, whinnying away (not dead) and it clearly lacks the fatigue to get up. Probably because I have RealisticFatigue active and its wearing horse armour.

i am having a problem with leveling at all as well.

the sqv command says im level -9.11111111.

i have this problem even with no other mods present. :(

here is my long list of mods, however like i said it still doesnt work even if i disable EVERYTHING.

any advice/tips would be great!

Note that RL calculates your level (and attributes) from your skills. If your skills are unusually low for any reason, then your level will be unusually low. Common reasons for problems like this are;

1) This is a new character in the tutorial dungeon and you haven't been given your "class" and "star" yet. Before you get your class skill bonuses your skills are all at about 5.

2) You are using a mod that changes race/class/star/etc in a way that reduces your skills below normal vanilla values. Things like "got no class" will mean you are stuck at level 1 until you have advanced your skills to the point where you would normally reach level 2 from a vanilla starting point.

3) your skills are normal, but you have not installed using OBMM and RealisticLeveling.ini is not correctly configured. You need to make sure all tags have been replaced with appropriate values.
