About to finally start the main quest, howd you like it?

Just curious how everyone liked it, I'm not asking anything about it here. How does it compare to Fallout 3 and NV (My first TES game and those are the onl similar games) What about other RPGs.
So yeah, how much did you/do you enjoy the main quest line

It was aiight. It had its moments. I really liked the tail end of it, though.

Mileage may vary. I rushed through my first walkthrough. May need to tun through the main questline again slower.

I wouldve given it an A but thew ending was severely mediocre. It was such a buildup to such a "Gee, its over". Atleast at the end of Oblivion there were signs that you had dun good.

I liked it, but the story has never been the draw for these Bethesda games in my book.

I do like that there are actually a couple moments of choice in the main quest, something that Morrowind and Oblivion lacked.

The actual story was alright. The ending was incredibly climactic and amazing, but after that there is literally zero change. Dragons are still around (Which is good for gameplay, soul reasons, but still...), and people say "Oh look Dovakhiin, you saved us all, didn't you?" But thats about it... Some fine tuning, rewriting of a few mild places and some mild cause-effect stuff after its all over would make it fantastic.

This, characterization, personality and story are not Bethesda's forte. That being said the MQ was pleasantry enjoyable.

I thought it was pretty good. The very ending had me saying "Wtf? That's it?" Other than that, it's better than being Martin's servant.

It's kind of funny how you find an elder scroll a quest or so after you find out you needed one.

I've done a lot of random misc quests and I've done few random dungeon explorations but I've never got ahead in the story. Probably because my first two characters were not really suited to the more Nordic styled Hero.
I've made a pure destruction mage who was good, until I realised a lot of Altmer and shunned by Nords/Stormcloaks because of the Thalmor. Then again I didn't even notice at the start where the Dragon at Helgen attacks you had to choose to side with the Empire or Stormcloak. I just saw the Empire soldier and followed. My next character was an evil archer/assassin and he didn't suit the story or most of the quest which where for helping others. So I role-played him. I made him a nice person to everyone but in reality he's a cold killer. That way no one will ever blame me for the murders ;)

Next I want to make a warrior. Either a Nord Barbarian/Beserker or an Imperial Paladin.

With my character I decided that helping the Stormcloaks would be the main quest instead of fighting Alduin (So that I have 2 more main quest routes to do with the next characters.) and using it as a main story I gotta say that it's pretty... Crap... It gets very repetitive with liberating each region.

So if you're thinking about ever using Stormcloaks as a main quest route and then end your character by the end of it then I'd suggest you don't get too excited.

As for the actual "Dragonborn" thing, haven't done it, looking forward to do it with my brutish Orc character.

I'm up to the 9th quest and it's been good, but hadn't taken very long at all. I'm hoping the quests become more involved towards the end, otherwise it's going to be disappointing. Still the best game I've played in many years, if not the best ever :)

Overall I enjoyed it quite a lot. I did, however, think it was too short and that some of the characters you meet in it needed a bit more 'fleshing out'. I'd give it a B.

WTF are the Blades thinking? I've never liked the Blades in previous games and only had anything to do with them because I had to. Now they want me to kill Paarthurnax - my bestest dragon buddy? Yeah right... [censored] to that. Fools.

The main questline has a lot of cool stuff within it... my favorite bits were in The Fallen.
Those who have played it know what I'm talking about, those who haven't need to.
