So about Co-Op gameplay...

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 3:10 am

Let's say that Fallout 4 had co-op gameplay and that it is written in stone and won't be taken out or expanded upon to be MMO larger multiplayer-esque.

What would you want to see in this co-op feature?

What don't you want to see in this co-op feature?

And finally, do you think it is feasible that Fallout 4 is going to have co-op considering the amount of requests from Bethesda fans?

Personally, I don't care for co-op so I would want it to intrude as little as possible, if not at all, on my singleplayer experience.

So I would hate it if the game used a save slot system that autosaves after bigger decisions which I've seen is a staple of co-op console games.

I seriously doubt there will be co-op. Although, it could be fun traveling around with a friend in the game. I could also do without, so I'm not too concerned about it. If it is I'd like it to be no more than 1 other person.

as long as it′s limited to two players max, I wouldn′t mind it, still keep things feeling desolate and well post-apoc while still adding the fun of sharing a game with a pall (or ya significant other etc)

I wouldn't mind if co op was in the game, just another companion really, but human instead of AI, but i would be against any actual full multi player or death match scenario,

and as long as it didn't make single player any worse, it wouldn't bother me.

Co-op? No thanks. Pretty hard to implement too. Who get's the experience for finishing a quest? If you divvy it evenly, you'd have to have two systems, one for solo and another for co-op.

I prefer for Series that started singelplayer that the main entries into the series stay singleplayer. I'm completely fine with spin off games featuring multiplayer if it's done well.

No co-op, no to any kind of multiplayer.

Fallout is a singleplayer experience, period.

And let's not forget a couple of facts. Multiplayer would ruin mod support, lead to further dumbing down, etc.

I do not want MP in Fallout 4, same reason I rarely use companions; People get in the way, intentionally or unintentionally and I just don't like having to tell people to move before I launch a mini-nuke or plasma grenade at encroaching enemies.

If it was in the final product I would have it work akin to Dead Island or Borderlands, drop in drop out that can be turned off but also limited to people I actually know.

Unless they do it in a similiar fashion to Divinity: Original Sin, and they most certainly won't, it's a no.

If coop happens then the world needs to become extremely harder with an extra person like borderlands.

Oh hell no! Thank god Bethesda bought the rights to Fallout and not EA, or else EA would force co-op/multiplayer into the game.

Nah. I hardly use companions either, I like being a Lone Wanderer.

I vote for no co-op and I say no multiplayer types of components to any video games developed by Bethesda Game Studios ever.

No, just no. I have never played Fallout and thought, "I wish I had a friend playing the game with me." I just enjoy getting lost in the world, and being single player just adds to the desperate loneliness of the feel of the game.

Co-op would interfere with a lot of the current game systems, like time freeze while in inventory and speech, VATS, and especially saving a complete game-state whenever you want. It would end up like Borderlands or Dead Island, where you can save only at 'save stations', and the state of the game is not preserved, only quest progress and personal inventory.

I really dislike how games have to change to accommodate co-op, even if I'm not using the co-op feature.

I don't want the main single-players games RPG to be turned into co-op, but i don't mind some smaller spin-off with a design more fitted/focused on co-op, in which rpg features would be reduced. A game with FoT or FoBOS gameplay, for instance, could work with co-op, with its more linear nature.

Yeah. Even though people often appeal with "don't like it, don't use it" -argument, it still has always a fundamental effect on other features. Forcing a game to have co-op when previous games didn't will change singleplayer experience as well.

I don't know about any of you, but I'd love to see a proper two player co-op mode for the next TES. Mod support and everything, it'd be brilliant.

Fallout though? No, keep it single player.

Mod support would be pretty tricky, since both players would presumably need to have exactly the same set-up. Stability can be tricky enough with one modded game, I think trying to sync two of them would be a disaster.
