I tried google'ing for some safe storage places and this was one of the suggested places. Some said that it might not be safe even though she lets you use her house, however.

I tried putting some things into the chest near the single bed there, i left the house, and waited for 24 hours x4, went back in, and it was all there. Some of it was red though, but the container itself was not. And even when i picked up all the items, i still have 0 items stolen on my crime stats.

So i guess this means it is safe, then? Hopefully this will help someone.
