About the Aliens

I wonder how crytek will explain how the aliens changed between the 1 & 2, before they where some kind of blue ugly siren, and now they seem to be a kind of pink jelly blob into a mechanical exoskeleton.

The story line from Vanilla and Warhead was abandoned. This is old news dude.

Was it really? I figured they just evolved or something...

It would be a shame if Nomad and Psycho don't even get a mention.

I read a post on here once about the aliens that I really liked. It went something like this:

The aliens in Crysis 1 had already been on the earth for millions of years. They sent their signal out into space, and it reached the present day aliens who had undergone millions of years of evolution. Then those aliens came to earth.

But really, there's no connection between the two games.

They developed their own type of armor suit to be able to walk around outside of their own atmosphere

Actually they didnt change much, when you go into the spaceship in crysis 1, they are in fact blue blobs of jelly that swim around in space, those big dreadlock aliens were like "ships" they piloted, called exosuits, well in crysis 2, the blobs get individual MECHANICAL suits equipped with legs, but they never stopped being blobs, the suit lets them walk around and not require extreme cold, so ya the script wasn't trashed, and you need to play both crysis and warhead to understand whats really going on. and to you guys that haven't really noticed..... they freeze the whole island to prove my point.

Well, their form changed now they arent tall and slim, they are spheric like a bubble, and they are exposed to the atmosphere. could a cheap explanation could be that the Ceph are like the covenant in halo, they are an aliance of many race ? Because when defending the aircraft carrier with nomad, the small blue robots are operating outside the sphere, but they dont seem to appear in crysis 2.

Ya, the mini robots are that, robots, you see when they are building the assembly line in the space ship, but the dreadlocks are they're ships, because they cant survive in subzero temps, so in Crysis 2, they have suits, that let them go outside of the sphere, no one ever knows whats happened to the sphere either, to prove my point in warhead, when Sykes looks into the containment cell, he sees a blob next to the dreadlocks so why is a blob in there with the dread? simple because he was inside the damn thing. which is why he armor gets drained. What there reason for being here? not sure, but in the first, its considered a distress signal, and they do send it into space, seems like time isnt a problem, but people remember, the lingshan, was an island..... manhatten is a.........island, so why cant there be a ship there? they never said they were all over earths surface, the game only says whats up in new york.

or...

it could just be that they redesigned the aliens after the criticism that some people had for the latter half of the 1st game (which I actually loved), so essentially, the story/canon is just not going to make sense because of design choices, probably some console concessions, etc.

i.e. there is no legitimate explanation, so try not to think about it? :P

i hope something in the game makes sense of it though

I agree with coolguycooldude that there is still the possibility that the actual aliens themselves are still the same, they are just using different weaponry now.

We know the Aliens live in extremely cold temperatures in either some kind of liquid or a very low gravity enviroment. I just hope the story doesnt end up as a complete derp-fest with plot holes as big as the ones War of the Worlds had.
