I've got some questions about the Bosmer.

First of all, the Green Pact. How did they become these shapeshifting demon-things in the first place? They are descendants of the Aldmer too, like all the other elves, am I correct? So why did they need Y'ffre to turn them into elves that they were in the first place?


Also, how strict is the religious diet of the bosmer? Do all of them only eat meat, or is it something that only the most religious ones do?

The Altmers also worship Y'ffre, just they don't think Y'ffre as great as their elite king Auriel. I'd say the Green Pact is an Aldmeri thing, that all elves got their form fixed thanks to Y'ffre. But the Bosmers chose to worship Y'ffre as the most important god, maybe more due to their ability of reversing the Green Pact, aka their Wild Hunt. IIRC the Wild Hunt is also contributed to Y'ffre, just to allow the Bosmers to forget the Pact and go back to unfixed forms.

I think the Bosmers can have vegetable food, as long as these vegetable are from outside the forests of Valenwood. Yet maybe they do despise vegetable food, considering them less clean, and those who are respected are more likely to totally relay on non-vegetable.

They were originally the shape shifting demon things. Just because they were Aldmer doesn't mean they were of a specific shape. The Khajiit were, too. They were collectively the Forest People. They only became Khajiit and Bosmer when Azura and Y'ffre intervened. That's the cliffnotes version because I'm about to go to work.

Bosmers became Bosmer because Aldmers took manish wives. Either Y'ffre counted this progress into shape-shifting, or Y'ffre made the Green Pact to the Aldmers, that through several branches of Aldmers bore Bosmers and through the seperation of Azura there went Khajiits.
