the single-player isnt just the same as other games. Your not the center of attention, the guys on your team dont wait for you to do something and the enemies dont stand behind cover popping thier heads out every now and then to be killed. Each game you play will be different because the bots will act the same way a person would, they will do objectives, help you out, heal you, buff your guns. Also the singleplayer and the multiplayer is the same thing just with single you are playing only bots, co-op you are playing with people on your team and versus you are playing with and against people.

Back on singleplayer, because it has bots that act as humans would, you can play through it and then play the same campaign and have a different experience, unlike other games where it is the same thing over and over again. As for the length of the actual single player im not sure but it has good replayability.

Theres 8 maps from what we have heard, so thats 8 missions (mabey a map is used more then once?) double that for two storylines (resistance story and secruity story) then add in all the challanged you can play (has co-op) for extra items, then the online games you can play, and the maps are very replayable.

If your worried about replayability, dont, the game will have ALOT of replay value.

And if you dont mind me asking, what were the two games that you had a bad experience with?

well if the bots behave differently every time, i will sure play it over and over again, me and a friend of mine are looking for a fps co-op online game with replayability , as we like to play together, but not always against other players
in any case this game look very interesting for now, i like the mirror s edge feel, not to compare, but that is the only example i have in mind that is close to that nice looking grfx,
also i noticed you get point for every bullet that hit the target, i think that is very smart

Yes, the game doesnt focus on getting kills as much as it focuses on teamwork and doing objectives, you get xp for every hit you get on a enemy, if somone takes your kill but you did 90% of the damage to him/her then you will get 90% of the xp.

But you get WAY more xp for doing objectives, healing teammates, resupplying your team, buffing your team, etc.

Blackops is garbage, many people were like "OMFGWTF BLACKOPS IS GONNA BE AWESOMEEEE!!!!!!111111one11111"
until it came out that is.
before it came out i knew it was going to be crap, everyone told me otherwise until it was release :P, i eventrually bought it just for nazi zombies which isnt even that great, so ya blackops was a huge mistake, i recommend finishing the campagin for the hell of it, i could rant on all day (and night) about how crappy blackops is but im to lazy :P

KZ3 was awesome.....until i heard how crappy they made it and unbalanced, i played the beta to and once i idd i knew for sure i wasnt going to get it, medics and infilitators are the most played classes and or to powerful, jetpacks are not even worth using as you cant fly only jump 15 feet into the air and glide back down, mechs are to powerful, and the rutal melee kills are very annoying, you can only play co-op in single player which is really short and stupid from what i heard, thank god i dont have it.

But dont worry you wont be disapointed with brink, its in good hands with SD, they know what there doing and wont mess it up just to get more people to buy it like KZ3 did, they delayed the game for another year or so for balancing and some improvments and such, so its going to be a masterpeice, (its coming out in a couple of months the delay was awhile ago so donty worry :P)

[/end rant :D]

Also i assume your getting this for ps3 since you said you have kz3 wich is a ps3 exclusive (to bad its not even as good as KZ2).

i like the two opposites campaign, so from what i understand, there is only the game and its story, so if i want to play against other real player, how does it work?
do i have an option to let anyone connect to my ps3 and be my enemy, or do i go in the multiplayer section and just choose MP

The multiplayer follows the same story as the singleplayer. Only differene between the two is that you play against bots in SP and against humans in MP. You can chose to play the maps in random order as well.

I would assume that would just depend on how many levels there are on each particular map. I dont think there is any predetermined limit. You can pretty much just climb anywhere in reach of your character.

I think the http://www.fragworld.org/frag/brink/the-fragworld-brink-compendium.html (horse, bla bla whatever) would answer all those questions, if people actually cared to read it carefully.

So all in all this is an awsome game and we should all sit back and relax and complain about how lame black ops and most other FPS game's are. :mohawk:

I won't go into details over everything thats already been said, just add my 2c here...

The game features two linear campaigns (Resistance and Security) that can be played in single or multi player (either vs or coop). They both follow the same story, each its own side of said story.

IE : Missing 1 resistance is, most likely, the same as mission 1 security, with one team playing attack and one defence.

That said, whether the mission lineup is linear or not is unknown, even though IMO most likely. That is, does Sec1 = Res1? Maybe not, and maybe Sec1=Res2 and Res1=Sec3, for example... However, I find that last assumption unlikely, because of online balance issues, especially in the lower levels... Just imagine playing your first online game as Resistance (thus level 1) and ending up facing security players who, because of story lineup, are at their third mission and already, maybe, levels 3-4... Would that imbalance the game? Maybe a bit, especially if everyone on one team is still level 1 and everyone on the other is already level 3..

Thus, I think Res1=Sec1, Res2=Sec2, etc... Plus breaking the storyline appart so that the two don't match doesn't seem to make sense, but that's just mho... ;)

"In addition to the sixteen core levels, there are four missions called "What If," two for each side, that portray a little twist on the various storylines. Rather than telling the story from a faction perspective, the "What If" missions are "not really canon," and let players see their factions be a little more extreme with their actions. That leaves open the possibility for more story-based missions in DLC, and while Ham said that putting in a new class would be a little much for DLC, "new abilities, new maps, new storytelling; those would be the things we'd love to see when and if DLC comes along.""

Did I just read 16 core levels + 1 bonus level for each side? O.o
That's more than double what recent previews stated. For some reason I believe you more than those journalists ...

well it's from an interview with the creative director, so it's likely to be up to date, that's 2 bonus missions per side btw, total of 20

Well for one thing levels dont matter alot, and you can play offline until you get a few levels.

And maps can be played in any order you want so people could be level 5 on the first map. :D
