Ummm HI, i just bought Fallout New Vegas. I played 30 Hours in and I am at the climix of the game up to this point. I am about to return the Platinum CHIP to MR. House. OH WAIT NO IM NOT!!!! I cant get back into the Vegas Strip. !!! I have tried loading from earlier save points, I have disbanded Items, I have tried entering a numerous amount of different ways, I have even gone back to gamestop 2x and tried getting back into Vegas on 3 seperate DISCS. I don't get it. I understand the high complexity of creating a game with this depth of detail, but if its not ready why the hell would you release it??? Its like buying a bottle of Soda with .....no soda. " Here is your empty bottle of Soda sir" THANKS!! There are immense glitches other than this and I really wouldn't mind if I couldn't do some of the sidequests ( which is still B.S.) but come on. I cant even do the main story line - wtf do I do? When i Enter the Strip my screen loads and Goes Pitch Black as my Xbox 360 slows down. Anyone having these problems????

Nope, game is working perfectly for me. That being said, I realize there are problems with the game. I support Obsidian, but it is obvious Bethesda Softworks rushed them, so I don't support them much.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF!? I mean you spend so much money on the game just for it to crash like that. I already had to start over once because of a corrupt save file and now when i try to exit the lucky 38 i just get a black screen and my xbox freezes. Mind you i'm playing it on the new slim version. This really blows and its very frustrating. I've been at it for about an hour trying different things also but nothings working. I even downloaded the update they just released and same damn thing!!! DAMNIT! idk these guys really let the ball drop on this one. gonna return the game and get fable 3

I had some crashes during random quests, 2 times it had happened but I can enter the Strip and I have given the chip to MR House. I think that using auto save can cause a lot of bugs. Maybe I'm wrong but I also have 30 hours of gameplay and I can enter the Vegas Strip anytime. It svcks that so many people are having this issues, the devs should release a new patch ASAP or if your game doesn't work ask for a refund or buy a new game, I may suggest Fable 3.

Sounds like you killed Caleb for "Debt Collector" while he was on the strip.

you have 2 options, both involve reverting to an earlier save

1) Revert to an earlier save and kill Caleb inside Freeside. If he's on the strip use the wait feature (1 hour at a time) until he shows in Freeside. Kill and loot him there.
2) If you can't do #1 then revert to an earlier save and go to Crimson Caravan. Buy the Old Cowboy Hat from Blake. Wear it whenever you're going to enter the strip or leave a casino.

Go to Camp Mcarren and take the monorail to the Vegas Strip. Then once you head back through the gate that is locked, it will unlock itself and you can continue playing.

Is there really going to be a patch for this?? I don't understand how there even can be. The Data is already encoded. I am not a video game engineer or a software programmer, but are they really going to fix this problem for the thousands of us that cant get back into Vegas Strip. Thanks for the Mclaren Monorail idea - i got excited because i got back into the strip BUT IT FROZE the second i tried walking in the strip - Im gona try the cowboy blake idea next - as per i dont have any saves before killing Mcaffrey = and i did kill him on the strip

From what i understand they are making a patch that should fix the majority of the big bugs. I my self am curious about the corrupted save files,which is affecting me at the moment. If they will find a solution so you can go back and load your corrupted files, Or if they are just gonna make it so future saves cant get corrupted. My guess is this patch will take up to a month to develop and test before they can release it. Fingers crossed.

wow acolyte thank you so much - Option 2 worked - i was testing different saves out and my most recent up to date save worked with this method - i continued on as it never happened all by wearing the cowboy hat i purchased from blake.... kind of ridiculous but it works - I wish it was that easy for the rest of these people experiencing their glitch problems as well... gl /..if i find anything ill be sure to share

Because my game is playable and I'm enjoying the ever loving hell out of it.

How to play F:NV
Step 1: Install to hard drive
Step 2: Clear cache as game is loading
Step 3: Enjoy


If you're not doing the above, don't complain.

Who said anything about "reinstallation?" Have you installed the game to your HD and, if so, at what point did you install it?

Otherwise, you're assuming that none of the steps listed could prevent the bug from occurring.

What, because I don't agree with you? I'm not exactly an old guy (28), but I can actually remember when people didn't complain about everything. This is NOT the only option, folks! If you can't wait for a patch (and I don't care if you "shouldn't have to"), then try to get your refund and get something else that'll satisfy your desire for instant gratification.

I'm not well off, but good LORD! I've spent more money to go watch a terrible movie (SW: Episode 1 being just one of many times I've done this) than I did on this game. At least this is thoroughly enjoyable, even broken.

I'll be too busy playing and enjoying F:NV.
