Accents

i'm very into the game but the one question thats been in my mind is: what are the accents for? will your guy be in any cinematics were you get to see your guy or is it just for hearing your guy say "soldier on deck" or "hacking the mainframe"... personally i like the desision to choose your accent but what is it for

Your character will automatically say lines, such as "Enemy spotted" and "I need a Medic" and "Oh Jesus Christ, there's a sticky grenade on my face".

Now you just pick what accent you want to say them in, Whether that be English, Jamaican, or Derpy Lisp.

That would be epic.

Especially on a Light character.

Star Trek DLC packs, anyone?

Well aside from variety, it adds depth to the story of the game. All of the characters on both sides are suppose to be a international mix, so it makes sense. On the resistance side you have refuges who started showing up on boats, and on the police side you have perhaps some original residents and maybe even some of the very early refuges who joined up to serve as they could in the early years when the original residents were still accepting people with open arms. I don't know but AU accents would be very logical given the location of the game, that being the middle of the pacific.

I keep hearing what I think is a South African accent in the videos, but it might just be my brain playing tricks on me.

How about the UT announcer? I would love to hear the P.C. say "MULTI-KILL! " or "HEADSHOT! " That would be epic.

Well yeah that makes a bit more sense,
what you said before was basically the same as saying that southern and new york accents are both the same because they're american accents

They have mentioned there are 8 accents.

I quit Counter-Strike because of that.

Shouldn't the accent be termed gaelic, then?

And I know a lot of people who would be upset if one was dropped for the other, or said that the were the same (Me Included).

But all the accents sound pretty decent. Does anybody know if one accent sounds the same as someone else with the same accent? Or could you have a low-pitched British accent, and a high-pitched one?

I would imagine that they will only do one version of every accent.
