Accessibility question regarding font

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 7:29 am

I'm a gamer with really crappy eyesight. Not the best combination I know, but nevertheless...

In watching the Fallout 4 trailers I noticed that some of the font (especially in the weapon mod screens) is agonizingly small. Like I'm going to have to pull out my reading glasses just to see it small... so I was wondering is there any way a zoom feature can be added to help with accessibility? And on that note will the pip-boy app for the smartphone be able to be enlarged?

Aw man, I have no idea about this. Given their last games didn't have this feature, it's not looking good :(

Their past games never had it, but if you purchase it on PC then mods may have you covered.

Good thread: Along with audio, font has been a major issue in games recently. I have 20/15 vision and I had an incredibly difficult time with The Witcher 3's font on console. I seriously hope Bethesda doesn't make a similar mistake!

Audio can usually be adjusted, I tend to boost voice volume and decrease music.

Text is stored in config files in earlier games, they are easy to change even without the CK, but not sure how easy it will be on consoles before we get mod support on them.

An very common complain on PC is that the font is too large, we prefer an smaller font as it gives the option to see more lines and add more information.

Just having an font size setting would be pretty easy to add, see the issue if you have bad vision or just an small tv.

The interface isn't great to begin with, sorry to say but you're out of luck or you can use a mod that fixes it.
