Accidental beheading?

Post » Thu Dec 16, 2010 8:16 am

K, so my problem is that I've modeled, positioned, and added a helmet into oblivion. I have everything set up correctly(I think). However, when I try to equip it onto my character, his head disappears and the helmet is invisible. It used to be visible when it was in the wrong rotation/ position but now that its correct it won't show up. I have a lot of experience in the construction set but I haven't modded in a while so you don't have to give me a really basic answer or type slowly for me :) if someone could help me out with this that would be awesome! thx!

Most helmets are set up to cover the hair slot. It sounds like yours is set up to cover the head slot. The helmet invisibility sounds like a missing normal map.

Yep my helmet covers the head slot, but my normal map is in place and is used correctly so I don't think that's it.

The only other "invisible" situation I can think of is the "no bone weights" one that makes an item collapse to a point - any chance the bone weights were lost in fixing the rotation?
