AR accuracy

I've tried all of the Assault rifles with different attachments and I find the accuracy of them poor.

The SMG i use (i don't know it's name, but it's the pre-order Doom one) out performs all of the Assault Rifles.

Anyone else feel the AR's need an accuracy buff?

You don't want people pecking at you across the whole map. SMG's don't do s*** for damage from far away, AR's do. I think SD did a decent job with the guns. If anything is a little whack it's the grenades/grenade launchers/sticky grenades but whatever fix that later. I would like to see more of everything, of course the more the better.

The maps are well designed with plenty of cover, plus you can dodge and run pretty well.
I'd rather there be a little more accuracy than damage.

Never had a problem taking people from a decent ways away, but as you can see from the level design this game isn't made for long distance encounters.

I found the accuracy wasn't that great at first, then I adjusted my sensitivity and recalled that I had been playing black ops for months which has an aim-lock sort of feature so I just had to get used to actually doing all of the aiming. It's not that bad I find they always hit as long as you're actually aiming at the person. I've also been sniping quite a bit and find that the accuracy is just true to where you're aiming.

I'm going to assume you mean 'Stability' rather than accuracy.
Accuracy basically means bullet spread, which the assault rifles actually have very little of when firing down sights. (Hip firing with AR's is not reccommended)
Stability, from what I can tell, refers to the recoil of the gun, especially when maintaining fire instead of burst firing.

So, you've got two options.
1) Learn 2 Burst Fire, noob!!!11!!1!

2) Equip the stability-enhancing attatchments, the Front Grip and the Muzzle Breaks.

Exactly - my AR works righteously after a little moding. Great at all ranges.

Yeppers, there's a few key things.

1) At medium range, aim down sights, if close'ish enough - aim for the head and burst fire.

2) Find a weapon/attachment combination that works for you. I'm using a Gerund with Front Grip, muzzle break and an YeoTek and it works awesomely. I'm like level 16, so I've played the game a fair bit and I always prefer my AR over the SMG in my back unless I'm in very enclosed areas and as long as I have ammo.

Why do people keep expecting AR to outperform on even match SMGs in short range situations? :/

If you want a hybrid weapon your best bet is the Euston AR.

Yea, i think you hit it on the button. You do have to burst fire. I find hipfiring is the best, and there are two assault rifles that I love, one being the one that looks most like an M4 in first person. It seems like aiming down the sights is just not an option, what with the character models being so bouncy with every movement.
