Achievements. They have to be there.

On Xbox and PS3 you have got an achievement - system, wich allows you to show off your game progress or make you want to play the game over and over again (because you can't reach special achievements or want to get the achievement for all difficulties). But on PC, there's not such a system. Except for Games for Windows Live. I know GfMS is a bit wierd but I can and will overlook it, to get achievements in Crysis 2. On Steam, though, you HAVE to purchase the game on Steam to get this system and that sets me up. I hope they will include an achievement system and I really don't care what it is, although boosting my LIVE gamerscore won't be so bad. ;)

There are achievements. At a gamer convention some time ago some cheeky fan went through the achievement list for Crysis 2 on the 360. It was uploaded to Youtube, but I think it has been removed.

NO GfWL please. GfWL is the most horrible, idiotic and disgusting system ever. I hope it dies. It must die and never to be used again. Ever. On the PC, that is.

Can you tell us why it is horrible? I tried it a days and it works just like the Xbox 360 OS, so I see no reason why it is horrible.

Aye, you don't even need full steamworks for the steam achievements now (such as in borderlands). Also gfwl can go die in a fire for the reason of the annoyances caused via the 'omg this key is wrong today, but tomorrow it'll be fine'. Also, ever tried playing an online game using the crappy xbox style gfwl? Dawn of war 2 did. Guess what? they're using steamworks now :P

Let me explain my experience with GfWL. I was trying to play Section 8 online. Well, I needed to install GfWL. OK, sure, whatever. I install it. I log in to my "Live" account, which I understood could be my Hotmail account. Alright, I log in. It asks me to update GfWL. OK, I update GfWL. The game closes, the game loads up, GfWL loads up, asks me to log in again... And ummm... Guess what? Oh boy! Another update?! Brilliant. And then, this happened about 5 times in a row, 'til I just gave up on it.

Not to mention the interface is, well, should we say outdated? And also, it's just a plain pain in the ass.

As for achievements and such, well, I'm quite sure it will be based on our EA accounts, like BFBC2 and such. Maybe there will be Gun Club achievements or something, but don't count on it.

Thanks
