Achieving Gamers and Fallout 4

Post » Tue Dec 01, 2015 11:28 pm

My opinion is that it is perfectly fine to cheat in single player games since they aren't hurting anyone except for maybe themselves, but cheating in multiplayer should be punished by however the developers decide. Some force cheaters to fight against other cheaters which actually would be fun especially with god mode and ragdoll physics while others publicly humiliate the cheater and ban their account. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wLYgZaOr8ZI is a video with the ways that certain devs have punished cheaters in multiplayer games. Some are ingenious.

I forgot which developer said it but they were considering having special servers that people caught cheating on the normal servers would be directed towards so that they would be playing against nothing but fellow cheaters. It sounded really conniving and I love the idea.

I also agree with the singleplayer cheating. Sometimes I want to spawn 20 cazadores in a settlement and throw on god mode just to watch the carnage.

edit: yup that is the case of the special servers on that video.

Rockstar did that for GTA's online mode I believe.

It was Everquest 2, announced it a few weeks, it sounded familiar and I did a search.

This doesn't make any sense. If cheating characters are copied to Drunder, then the original version of their character still remains on the original server. Now if it said moved or transferred instead of copied, then it is a fitting punishment.

I completed an Ironman playthrough of Skyrim on the hardest difficulty controlling the mouse and keyboard with my feet so that I could tie my hands behind my back. Furthermore, my monitor was turned off to simulate the fact that my character was blind. I hope everyone is suitably impressed.

Did you remember to play it in a refrigerator? For immersion?

Jokes aside, Iron man would not work for Bethesda games because they are buggy as hell. One can always play Iron man by his own will though.

did you mimic the injury's your character sustained on yourself? If he gets hit with a sword you got to cut yourself if he gets electricuted you got to stick a knife in a wall socket. And dont forget if you catch a disease you got to start licking anything that has been touched by sick people door knobs, spoons, etc if you did all those things then I'm impressed.

It really depends on the achievement as to whether it gives me the value described in the OP. Some of the ones that came with the Gun Runners Arsenal in F:NV have been the best for me so far, taking out deathclaws with dynamite or sentry bots with a lead pipe is challenging. Collect-em-up achievements are the worst, The Pitt collecting 100 ingots was dull as ditchwater though some of the trogg fights reedemed it. I suppose it depends on the achievement and how hard you have to work to get it as to what it means.

I'd love to see Leaderboards though, Fallout is a SP game for sure but given how much interactivity goes on (these forums for a start) it be great to see a bit of competition in the game. Most unarmed deathclaw kills, # of dreams shattered, time spent asleep and other weird counts. Cant see that in F4 myself but never say never.

Bethesda wouldn't implement this for two reasons;

1. It would unnecessarily divide the fanbase and create an elitist sect that would look down on and insult their "non-purist" counterparts.

2. It would, inadvertent or not, discourage modding, something Bethesda would never want to even unintentionally do, let alone on purpose.

What the OP is asking for is something that is pretty irrelevant because....

1.No leaderboards (thank god)

2.SP-RPG

3.FO community for the most part is a lot more mature then your average gamer and I really doubt is looking for an [censored] stroke session.

4.Did I say it's a SP-RPG?

And on the subject of MOD's, obviously the OP has no idea what he's talking about or even understands what Modding is about. So I won't even really comment on that.

In the end it just sounds like FO series isn't for him.

Achievement is its own reward. This is a single player game. However if you want bragging rights, I'm fairly sure you (for every platform the game is going to be released on) can take in game pics/screen caps that work to this end.

Anyway, I play FO for me. Not to participate in pissing contests. To each their own, though?

Have you ever MET the people seeking to be "special" in this way? Pretty sure their self-centered little world has little interest in humanitarian efforts and 3rd world countries only exist because some TV "news" mentioned some celebrity visited them....

Game Achievements rarely prove what the "Achiever" thinks they do....

And you yourself are pathetic for being terribly close minded, and having [censored] all (namely, nothing) as your arguments. You see the giving of millions of types of players an OPTIONAL way of playing the game their way as an aberration, while you could completely opt out. You are completely devoid of any reason or logic, and yet you still reply to this comment, trying to bash my tastes in gaming? You should know that that is what is pathetic, not someone's very legitimate (and common) tastes in gaming.

What I'm suggesting would make this game more appealing to a wider number of people. More people would be willing to play this game, making it better for the developers.

You must also be an imbecile to overlook the fact that I said this would be completely optional. You would most defintetly be able to use mods still.

It's just clear that I overestimated the reasoning ability of most of the fallout community. But it is what it is.

And you are a bit obsessed. You stated multiple times you would stop replying. You have not.

People think this is a way for people to prove themselves of something. Nevermind the fact that millions of players are trying to do it in MMORPGs and the sort, players that could buy fallout and be incentivized by such an OPTIONAL feature, but you idiots immediately jump to the idea that it's a stupid idea for no logical reason. It's just pathetic.

The vast majority of people who reply can't put together an argument for [censored], so this will be me leaving this thread. People simply default to 'this idea is [censored] because my opinion of the game is what matters most; [censored] optional easy-to implement features that would make the game appeal to millions more', No wonder there are so many people to fill in unskilled workplaces that don't require skills. So many people are completely devoid of any logical capabilities.

...why do you keep comparing this single-player, open-world/sandbox/free-roam/"walking simulator"/etc game to multiplayer MMOs? (Where yeah - every low-self-esteem tryhard Internet Toughguy is constantly trying to whip out his [censored] to show he's "better" than the people around him. Gearscore/achievement score/DPS meter/pvp rank.... :shakehead: )

And you're one of those guys that think optional means it belongs in a game where it has ZERO place, that more features blah blah is good. You're a clown and just don't get it and will spout till you're blue in the face. And don't even start with "Nevermind that millions" garbage, I bet that you're a World of Warcraft player and are probably a hard core LFR type guy. Yeah look how that game is doing, a shadow of what it once was.

And you haven't given one legit reason so keep standing on that soap box bro.

Achievements aren't silly if you're part of a reward system that gives you store credit based on how many achievements you unlock among other things. [censored], it's well past time my gaming habit started paying itself off.

Let the troll thread die. The OP just relieved what he thinks of the Fallout community and marked himself as an outsider. You can't fault him/her for not understanding what FO stands for because his/her blood doesn't bleed Blue and Yellow. Just let it die.

Also, the OP created a login the same day this thread was created... I also assume all the people that are in agreement with him/her are his/her logins aswell.
