Acrobatic Tricks

Post » Mon Jul 05, 2010 8:48 am

So Acrobatic is Removed and Athletics too
but they make a Sprint instead of Athletics so now you can sprint

So now i am just wondering if Acrobatics is gone forever ??

but I would like Acrobatic Tricks With Sprint

Like Wallrunning ,Jumping from Roof to Roof,Climb,Backflips,Slide,Roll's,Hanging, And more Acrobatic Tricks you can think of

I Really want to see Sprint with some Acrobatic Tricks

What do you think ? Should there be Acrobatic Tricks like Climb,Roll,Wallrun,Backflips,Slide & Hanging ???

I'd love to see such things. So far as I know, climbing (and thus all related things) is out. But I'd still like to be able to run a character who can jump from rooftop to rooftop or such. At this point though, we don't even know if there will be any variation in jump ability at all. It could well be fixed.

Probually a perk or something that influences this. Like one that gives you the dodge roll ability and what not.

Perhaps they could roll acrobatic/parkour perks into a fully defined and awesome hand-to-hand/martial arts skill. Do we even know the status of hand-to-hand?

I wouldn't mind some parkour elements, if it was kept at a minimum. But it would HAVE to be done right, or not at all.

Please, just not 'not at all'! Even if it were done badly, at least it would provide some framework that could make it easier for modders to fix it instead of having to implement everything from scratch (and the same goes for horses, in whose case the developers are facing the same dilemma).

from my understanding it will draw from you stamina and will dwindle it down as you sprint untill you run out of stamina. though i would like to see some acrobatic feats like wall running.... and by wall running i mean only take a few steps along a wall to further your distance.... like if you are running straight into a wall you coul take a max of 2-3 steps up it the jump to reach a ledge or rooftop. or if your running paralell to a wall and there is a short gap in the floor that is longer than a normal jump can span while sprinting then you could angle into the wall and take 2-3 steps on the wall over the gap and then jump to span the rest of it. im wanting a realistic aproach to it...not a shinobe running 3 miles down a wall

Brink was designed with that element in mind from the start. Also Brink was developed by Splash Damage, only published by Bethesda.

So where are the intellectual rights in terms of ripping the core of it from brink? To be honest I don't really care whether it is in or not, it seems like a lot of work on the level designers behalf where they have to make sure that every dungeon is "parkour proof" so people with that perk can just jump through it.

I'd like to see some Martial Arts implemented into the Hand-to-Hand combat skill at higher levels, but nothing too Overpowered.

Acrobatics should stay as it is though, Flips, Jumps, Climbing, etc

Would actually be really neat for thief characters to be able to do more unique stuff than simple jumping higher

there will most likely be a perk for the tricks or the dodging stuff. most of the perks will be skill releated but it hasn't been said that they will be exclusivly skill related.

Yeah I wouldn't mind this getting some love, would be awesome to be getting chased by guards after snatching a purse and having the skills to out manoeuvre them! I can see the pitfalls of an idea like this been implemented so late into the games design but it doesn't mean they shouldn't try.

Well I sure hope we still have dodge rolling, and I hope even more that it was improved upon.

As a stealth type character I used the dodges all the time.

Considering they have indeed removed acrobatics they may actually have developped a better movement system, why knows, it's actually not impossible.

Being able to kick off a wall or cliff would be a nice feature. It could be like the whole jumping off the water in OB, only more useful.

You didn't need to full acrobatics skill to perform a back-flip or somersaults in Oblivion, it was the block skill. I see no reason why it wouldn't work the same way, just different 'tricks' for different skills.
