Are you going to make it so we can put all our skills in the action bar?
It is too small now

I'm pretty sure the game has been designed around having a limited number of your skills available to you at a given time.
It's a central aspect of the game design (and one I wholeheartedly love) making the player have to choose what abilities to focus on, what "load out" to carry into the field etc.
They only have 5 for a reason. BUT technically you can have 10 because at level 15 you unlock weapon swapping which also swaps skills. you can also "swap" to the same weapon.
5 action bars seems really small for a MMO. To me it expresses how shallow this game will be for longivity in other areas of the game as well. Other MMOs I see a ton of action bars filling the lower portion of the screen. In ESO it's 5+2.
what reason would that be? Because it's going on a console?
I was discussing this with my friends earlier. I would like to have more hotbar space as well, but I can live without it.
Has nothing to do with shallowness though.
What seems more shallow:
1) An action bar where you can use all abilities all the time, so every class ends up spamming the same 5 abilities in a rotation?
2) An action bar where you have to choose 12 abilities from dozens of active abilities, making actual tactical choices that create a unique character and playstyle?
Its a core aspect of the game.z The game was designed around it. it requires you to plan out a "tool set" for certain cituations you head into. and personally, I hope you reliae more hotbars that clog the screen up doesnt equal better game.
The reason why I think it does to me express how the games shallowness as far as skills and abilites is it's going to lead to the lack to play strategically and tactically. It's nothing more but a hack and slash with a few key choices in abilites to press. Yay!
I disagree.
Although i have been playing MMO that have have 6 or less buttons for a few years now so i guess i'm just used to it.
why does it not equal a better game and read my last comment.
So in other words instead of having those abilites laid out in front of you, you'd rather cycle through menus.
Again, you're actually making more important choices. Games with large ability bars usually only ask you to use 3-4 of them over and over again. A smaller action bar with lots of useful skills to choose from makes your choices matter. A lot.
Exactly. Also the whole "you can have every skill and use very skill" argument is kind of dumb because chances are you will use no more then 10(the limit in this game).
I suggest you to take a look at this http://esohead.com/calculator/skills . I have experienced the combat in this game and it actually feels very nice, the abilitties actually have weight in combat and are not the common does 10 dmg ability. Every ability has an specific use, plus the effect that you give to every ability after you morph it. That means that you dont need 4 abilitites that do the same and have different icons clogging up your screen. Here you have to actually think and make different set ups of abilitties depending on what you plan to do. That doesnt mean that you should learn 5 abilities only and stick with them, since you would be better prepared if you have abilitites for tanking, survival, damage, healing etc.
Combat in here is not just faceroll your keyboard and kill everything around, or play mozart's symphony with the hundreds of abilitties around your screen. Since here you also have control over the dodge, block, interrupt, normal attacks and heavy attacks,( plus normal and heavy attacks are really important in this combat system) instead of having your character do them for you or having a certain stat for them to happen such as dodge and block in other games. when you get used to this combat system it feels very fluid and solid.
Here you play the game, not the UI.
umm you can do that in other MMOs by simplying moving things around like SWTOR which I think has an awesome UI editor or simply using add ons or making the font size smaller though UI settings.
Q for usable's, 1-5 skills, R for ultimate
x2 after level 15.
Enough once you decide a playstyle, besides your magicka/stamina bar won-t allow for too much spam without interruption on those 5 already.
You're missing the point (or deliberately ignoring the posts that make it).
An action bar like WoW's, which is what you're referring to, ensures that every character of a specific build will have the exact same abilities that they use the exact same way every single time. There's no variety, there's no thought. Just spamming.
An action bar like ESO's forces you to make smart choices. The 12 skills you pick will determine your playstyle and make your character unique. You may tweak the bars a bit with specific groups, but you'll still have to make decisions about how to load your bars that have huge effects one your in-game tactics. In other words, it's the opposite of shallow.
not to derail the subject, but I'm not the one who altered the main topic by changing it to "clutter on the screen" there are more than enough options in current gen mmos that allow you to rid of this and this isn't even the topic of discussion. It's about the effectiveness of only having 5 hotbars and I got the point. Anyways a lot of good points made with the exception of this "clutter on the screen" which is bogus. It's a MMO and afaik plenty of ways to change that now on most of your most played MMOs.
