I think the OP means special animations (very short) that occur rarely. For example, a special animation occurs during a particular quest (like getting knocked out during the FO3 quest, "Finding the GECK"), or a special "finish move" type deal for unique enemies.
Oh. Well, as long as they're very very short, I probably wouldn't mind. I don't typically like losing control of my chr for any reason tho. Immersion-breaker.
I understand cut-scene use in some instances (easier to tell or set up a story/plot point or whatever) and I find them tolerable in games like Tombraider, but RPG's not so much.
