Action scenes

Post » Sat May 08, 2010 3:29 pm

I think fallout needs action scenes for example when I killed Benny when he was tied up if u choose to kill him it should show your character pulling out a long knife u grab bennys head and tilt it sideways then u stab him knife goes through neck and he coughs up blood and dies instead of me hitting him like 20 times in the head a dramatic moment like that feels less and less dramatic if I have to swing a knife at his head a bazillions times and when u untie someone it should show u uniting them or something just sayin makes a game feel better with action scenes like that

Yes to make the game much more interesting.

Like in the beginning were Benny shoots you in the face...have something like that.

Something how cod has it like...because they have ALOT of action scenes.

It would be possible, but the extra animations are too much of a hassle to be added in DLC. It would greatly enhance the experience for the next Fallout, though.

I enjoy cutscenes, but apart from ending slides and game intros, Fallout really isn't a 'Cutscene' kind of game.

As long as its not FMV it should be ok I guess. I always hate when they do that, just end up wishing the game played as smoothly and crisp as the FMV :S

Eh, no thanks. I know those over-stylized kills are popular in other games (you can find them in everything from CoD to Dragon Age 2...) but it doesn't really fit New Vegas' atmosphere.

And when you fall out of the elevator in mother ship zeta.

it would be cool but 3 problems

1. how would we activate the ability if all the buttons r already assigned

2. it would be buggy as hell depending on if u mean a 3rd person camara angle ( take manhunt's kill cam as a example)

3. this is fallout we are talking about not CoD ffs

If it's a scene where I lose control of my character and have to sit and watch something, it's a cutscene. An in-game cut-scene using a dynamic process to render the graphics based on current events in the game, but a cut-scene nonetheless. Edit: And I don't want them in my RPG's.

It's not like cod were tha first ones to have action scenes they need to do something I dont wannA see the next fallout game to be the exact sAme thing as vegAs just with 2 or three new features even though I'll still buy it I just won't some new type of gameplay

I think the OP means special animations (very short) that occur rarely. For example, a special animation occurs during a particular quest (like getting knocked out during the FO3 quest, "Finding the GECK"), or a special "finish move" type deal for unique enemies.

Oh. Well, as long as they're very very short, I probably wouldn't mind. I don't typically like losing control of my chr for any reason tho. Immersion-breaker.
I understand cut-scene use in some instances (easier to tell or set up a story/plot point or whatever) and I find them tolerable in games like Tombraider, but RPG's not so much.

I agree. I suppose a special "execution" animation would be relatively harmless, but if they started making my character do "John Woo" dives and kill a bunch of people just to up the "cool factor", I'd have to draw the line at that point.

I am going to ignore the CoD remark, but you mean something like the sitting down animation, only for performing executions? Like Mister Sandman, only for bound opponents? I'd be okay with that.

If it's small FPP animations like getting knocked out in The Pitt, falling down the house in Point Lookout or being extracted by Zeta then yeah I guess some would be okay.
As long as the game isn't filled with them around every corner.

As to CGI cutscenes or 3rdPP cuscenes? No, god no. They simply don't fit well in Fallout.

If its execution animations it might start to go against a players chracter. Like the way I deal with benny when tied up is shoot him in the head (I steal his gun first) but if have to do a cut scene of my guy using a knife.

I supose could be with choice to do s or not would work

Guys, we already have what the OP is talking about, Mister Sandman, only he wants it to be an option to execute bound (IE: Crucified and tied up) people.

I think it would be fine, but only if it stays like the op is talking.

Its too late for this game I m thinking, but could be a good suggestion for the next one.

Short and sweet and not many of them
