Activate Retail Fallout 3 in 2014?!

Hello to all fallout fans out there!

I got a huge issue: I recently bought a brand new retail copy of Fallout 3 GOTY (non steam) and I can't activate it. Either GFWL says something like "invalid key" or "your key needs to have 25 characters". I checked the internet and only found out that apparently GFWL is not supported anymore. How am I supposed to play my game normally now? Even with the GFWL disabler the game asks me to activate it. I can only play sort of normally if I put the disk in my drive. Still GFWL asks me to activate F3 after every start up. If I hit escape GFWL disappears but that is quite annoying anyway. Is there any legit way to activate the game in GFWL and play in peace?

GFWL is still supported to a degree, ie: It's still going., Only the marketplace has stopped.

Double check your cd-key. Make sure you do have the correct characters in and that you do have 25 characters entered. Watch for 0's and o's.

GFWL isn't actually needed for the game to play, it' just tracks achievements. Are you positive you've installed the disabler in the correct place?

Sorry you are having issues.

Please check the sticky for installation. In that sticky there is a link to get the client for GFWL. It is only needed to be installed but it does not need to be active or even logged into.

Follow the other steps as well since they help with most of the issues with getting the game running.
