Activation limit is out

So I have this here copy of Crysis 1 on Steam. I have one problem though. I am out of activation limits. I can't revoke any because I only found this out AFTER I reformatted. Is there any way to reset the activation limit?

This actually pisses me off quite a bit because, well, I am a paying customer. This is DRM supposedly meant to stop piracy, but instead of doing that it is stopping me. How many pirates are complaining about SecuROM? None. It hasn't stopped a single pirate. Not one. Yet, here I am, a paying customer, unable to play my game because of DRM that doesn't even work (which of course describes all hardware based DRM to begin with). This isn't the first time DRM has **** me over, and I am sick and tired of this ****.

Talk to EA support and give them your CD key. They'll probably issue you a few more activations.

I assume you know where to find your CD key on steam.

And yet publishers and developers still keep putting it on their games. This is one of the reasons why I don't get a game on PC unless it's a PC exclusive, and even then I won't get the game if it has a really bad DRM scheme or requires Steam.
