I actually find Dunmer to be amongst the more attractive.

Post » Tue Aug 26, 2014 5:41 am

I'm sure I'm not alone on that one, I've met alot of Dunmer fans around here. (My favourite race are infact Nords, but that ain't stopping me from loving my second favourite. :D)

However, outside of the forums, I usually meet folks who find Dunmer less attractive because of the eyebags and such, which makes them look older in their opinion.

I disagree myself, I think Dunmer can look just as young as any other race. It's just the case that those eyebags and the harsh browline are a natural feature of the race, which means that it's just simply there, and has nothing to do with age. I embrace those features, and I think it's a really cool trait that makes them look more eccentric as a race, not uglier or older.

I sometimes make characters that I don't plan on playing, simply because I like to experiment with character creation. And in all fairness, I have no problems at all when making Dunmer women that would look like they're in their early to mid 20's and good looking. Granted, I find it more difficult (Although possible) to make male Dunmer look as young as their female counterparts, but that doesn't bother me anyway because my male characters tend to be in their 30's or 40's, but even then I think a male Dunmer can look good in a more rougher and masculine fashion.

In the end, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, ofcourse.

Edit: Ofcourse, I'm well aware that I mainly mentioned age in this thread. It's because I think that this is the main concern that people have with the Dark Elves. In no way am I saying that being middle-aged makes a character less attractive.

Really? I'd say aesthetically-wise, they're down there with the Orcs. I'm sure they looked a lot better when they were Chimer. My only exception is Karliah. Maybe it's because of her awesome purple eyes & accent.

To each his own.

I like the way the orcs look in Skyrim. Maybe not pretty but certainly striking.

To me the Dunmer looked good. Stylistically it was a similar look to MW and much better than Oblivion.

I find any look for the races was better in anything that wasn't Oblivion.

Orc women are sixy. I'm serious. Not in the traditional way, but still. Maybe it's their tough, collected demeanor, I don't know.

I think that with effort, you can make a good looking Dunmer, orc, or even Bosmer. But in terms of general awesomeness, nothing beats the Khajiit!

Can't deny that.

That's because making a feline warrior with muscle and long manes screams for ''badass''. :)

They look awesome, without a doubt. But I could never bed with anyone that looks like a mutant pug & would kill you as soon as look at you.

Yeah, the only problem I had with them is that they looked too old in my opinion (there should have been more complexion presets). I can see that Bethesda was trying to make the different elf races more distinguishable, but holy eyebrow ridges & wrinkles! Apart from that, love the direction they are going in :D I never played a Dunmer before, but now they have grown to be my fav race next to Altmer.

I'd make a character as example for what I think is an attractive Dunmer. But I can't play Skyrim right now. Maybe later.

Well, as I mentioned. I don't consider them wrinkles, just natural traits. So they're no signs of aging for me. Hence it does not bother me. I don't think it'll be weird that a Dunmer in his/her teen years would have those same traits.

I find all the races in Skyrim to be very attractive, mind you I do like them rugged. ;)

Certainly attractive, but does it really count when it's modded?

Orc women are sixy. give me one with a long underbite and tusks. the more warrior like the sixier I think.

Anyway dunmer women in Skyrim are also sixy and attractive. Brelyna has such a sweet voice. same with Niranye in Windhelm.

I like the way the Dunmer look, they also look especially good as vampires with red eyes imo.

My thoughts exactly.

We're definitely discussing the original game.

There's a couple ladies here who absolutely adore Dunmer (Teldryn especially) but I don't think they post any more.

I agree, I've created an Orc woman that's a good mix of sixy and badass...there's just something about a strong woman with feminine features that does it for me.
