Yes, it's a puzzle. There's a spoiler about it in the readme. There's also an encoded message (a separate thing)... I'm not sure if Kain translated that one or not. *nudge nudge* :D

There should be almost no incompatibilities. There's just one npc and a XMarker added in the Mages Guild in Chorrol. Everything else is in its own worldspace.

So, do I remove Voices.BSA or keep them (readme does not say anything about deleting.)

No, nothign to delete. Just replace the esp.
Load order? I do not know of any real problems, so just try it anywhere.

Can someone give me a wee hint on how to start the quest?

Load order? I do not know of any real problems, so just try it anywhere.

It's listed in BOSS. It goes under quests and locations.

mod is amazing so far, I've only had some wierd freezing in the first dungeon. I suspect its due to the audio(assuming it is run by scripting of some sort) but other than that everything has been working great.

O and I was wondering if there was any word on a translation of The Order? I know there was a little misunderstanding a while back and no new thread was made. Just curious looked incredible as well. :)

I played a bit this mod and from the first second it started with hack & slash (with ... spiders), my character being level 2.
It's really not good to read titles while hearing spoken german in the same time.
We can unpack the BSA files and delete Sound subdirectories and recover some 60% of total mod size.
Also world map is not translated, some spoken videos are also not translated.
I got a problem with the eyes of the guy in choroll MG (maybe a conflict with Cobl races resources I'm using).

Well I'm unchecking this mod from load list for now...

Thanks for the report. Sounds a bit harsh to me to dismiss the mod so easily, though...
Translating the map should be easy. The videos are worse, but then in my experience most videoes are not very important and are usually more for show.
What's the problem with the eyes? The guy in Chorrol is supposed to have eyeArgonian "Argonian" [EYES:0003E91E], which are standard, vanilla eyes.

I think ShadMe made a mod called MUTE which mutes all spoken dialogue making the game a reading only experience - that could be activated while playing this to prevent the spoken German if too confusing.

I'm really enjoying this mod. I don't find the german vocals a distraction at all, rather I find it adds to the ambiance of a distant land. The subtitles are more than sufficient to enjoy playing this mod. Plus, the more I play thru, the more I'm understanding bits and pieces of german :)

The eye problem on the guy in the chorrol mage guild is from your bash patch with race records checked. (I'm using COBL races as well)

Bash filtered it :

Eye Meshes Filtered

In order to prevent 'googly eyes', incompatible eyes have been removed from the following races.

? zzzRaceIsri



You can either place the Adash esp after the bashed patch in your load order or open the bashed patch esp in TES4Edit and remove that race record from the patch to correct the eyes. (or don't merge race records in the bash patch options...I chose to edit my patch file and removed that one edit so all the other bash patch tweaks are still applied to my adash esp /shrug)


Its a very enjoyable mod.

The latest journal update was about the black hearts, I'm assuming this is related to the two Lich that appear when I activate the pressure switch. After I kill them there is a blue light in front of the door; passing through it takes me back to the beginning of the dungeon. HALP.

So...? Unless you're arachnophobic, which I can understand. :) There are dozens of quests and plenty of roleplaying opportunities. Trust me. You should give it a chance.

Can't do much with the maps, unfortunately. Or the videos, but they're probably just filler like Petrus said.

Just jump over the lava again, next to the loading door leading to the (now dead) lichs is another door where you can get the blood. After that go back to the hall and jump down, you will find another way.

Trust me. You should give it a chance.

What I have done so far:

I deleted the following files from from the original German Mod:
- VoicesKap01 to VoicesKap03.bsa
- Video folder
- Silenced (in fact muted) four wave files in LordKain_Adash_World - Sound and recreated the BSA file (with full compression)
- Replaced LordKain_Adash_World - Menus.bsa with the last english version given by LordKain


Created a new OMOD:
Adash - City of Magic (Eng) 3.0.omod
Size: 385 MB

I'm giving a try again to this quest and provide you feedback later.

So far working very well; now I'm enjoying the mod with the silenced version (using Elys universal silenced voices).
I have taken with me a Mage CSR companion and kept sneaking and kiling the spiders as I have a stealth character.

Impossible to play this quest if you are at level 3 even with a companion especially if you are using Fearsome Magicka.

In the step where you get Vaermina Blood, then a bunch of Kalric attacks you.

I think the quest script count the number of Kalrics you are killing until the last one; then the door behind open.
Now I have with me a companion which killed some of them, resulting on the door still locked at the end of fight.
(the script still waiting to reach the expected number of Kalrics killed by me)!

This mod should be considered for characters +20 Level.
Not normal at level 3 to face a character wearing Blackluster armor a daedric longsword.

I think I will stop here.
This mod fall in what I have expected.

Great work though.

I am at the grave of 1000 ways. I tried to follow directions as in the quest hints page in the read me but I am at a loss.
I turn right to the 1st corridor, then I am teleported to another part of the maze and turn left (I tried both, turning left in 1st person view and turning left as I see the map) and after walking and being teleported several times I end up in a dead end wall!

what am I doing wrong?

I don't know if I'm over anolysing the clue or if I'm misunderstanding it, but one would expect that right and left in balance suggests that you're supposed to alternate the rights and left in our path. However, right and left are relative terms and they need to be tied to an actor and a facing to have any meaning. And which times does turning left or right actually count? Does it count when going through a winding passageway or only in intersections? Is there any purpose to the placement of the burning lights in the corridors? Should I perhaps move to the left and right of the placed light soures? Should I turn left or right before or after the light source? I kept trying various things untill I forgot what I had tired and meant to try, and then I managed to get motionsick (Yeah, I tend to get motionsick in winding caves or passageways).

In my opinion Forral something is not so accurate with the readme hints regarding the maze.

Anyway, I am completely burnt and I would love a console command to get me out of this place :laugh:
