[RELz] Adash - City of Magic

Post » Mon Sep 06, 2010 2:25 pm

ADASH - CITY OF MAGIC
A project for Oblivion and Shivering Isles.

Beyond the coasts of Tamriel,
far in the west amidst the unknown.
There's a city filled with magic and miracles.
A free city under the banner of the brotherhood.
A Place for traders, mages and adventurers,
a place for slayers, bandits and slave-traders.
Five magical circles, an endless fight for power.
A free city, without the servitude of the emperor...

Chosen by the Gods to face up to the Triumvirate,
those Gods are not well-disposed to the Namadash.
Deep beneath the lanes and streets of Adash,
the real enemy of this world is revealed to the Wanderer.
And everything he hoped to know and believed in
loses its meaning in this moment...

ABOUT THE WORLD OF ADASH

Adash, the city of magic, is a place beyond the boundaries of Cyrodiil and Tamriel
far in the west at the end of the sea. A Place with his own history, his own culture
and his own conflicts. For several months the fragile peace between the Five Circles
threatens to find an end and in these days the Oracle of Mandakar speaks about the
arrival of a stranger from the east... But who is this stranger, who has to oppose
the still banished enemies from a world beyond imagination?

Would you be interested in having English voice-acting for the mod? I'm going to be free after June 15 (Summer holiday!) so I can do some voice-acting then, if you got a team of voice-actors you could also have people review the translations really quickly. What do you think?

PS

My congratulations to the modding team of this project, that really looks like one amazing mod. :tops:

These screens look magnificent.

http://adash-web.de/screens/008.jpg
I love the canol - I know it sounds strange but I kind of miss Balmora's canol when I travel around Cyrodiil. This should take care of that nicely, I think!

http://adash-web.de/screens/010.jpg
This one is wonderfully atmospheric.

http://adash-web.de/screens/kap2_03.jpg
Is this a puzzle? Do we get to solve it? It looks fascinating.

http://adash-web.de/screens/kap3_07.jpg
A great scenic view here.

All of this looks like wonderful stuff and I can't wait to try it out. I have one question: you mention this lies far in the west at the end of the sea. Does that mean Adash exists in the same worldspace as Cyrodiil? Or does it exist in its own worldspace?

Either way, count on another insta-download from me. Huge thank you's to everyone who helped bring us this massive project!

Is the main area of the mod in the tamriel world space or in its own?

Are there any known conflicts with popular English mods?

I assume deleting the German voices and use Ely's Universal Silent Voices will work fine?

Looked for conflicts in TES4EDIT and found very little, which is not surprising since it's in a different Worldspace. Found this:

1. [REFR:0003ADC7] (places ICGroundFloor08 [STAT:0003AD73] in GRUP Cell Temporary Children of ICTalosPlazaClaudiusArcadiasHouse "Claudius Arcadia's House" [CELL:0002C1A9]) is deleted. Looks like a "wild" edit?

2. Changes some Dialogue.
a. GREETING: [INFO:0003C8B5] and [INFO:0003C8B6]. Greetings if you are the Gray Fox. No conflicts with any of my currently installed mods, but could conflict with others.
b. GREETING: [INFO:0007B7DA], [INFO:0007B7DB, [INFO:0007B7DC] and [INFO:000AF05A]. Greetings if you are Champion of Cyrodiil. Conflicts with http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=23526

3. Makes some edits to
Worldspace \ 0000003C \ Block 0, 0 \ Sub-Block 0, 0 \ 00005FC6 \ Temporary \ 000074E7
and
Worldspace \ 0000003C \ Block 0, 0 \ Sub-Block 0, 0 \ 00005FE5 \ Temporary \ 000074C8
that looks like "wild" edits since it just removes the "Compressed" flag and makes some marginal landscape edits.

All of it is in it's own worldspace, there's just a npc added to the Mages Guild in Chorrol.

These screens look magnificent.

Ooh, thanks for posting those. When you're so immersed in the text, it helps to have a look at the rest of it. :)

Is this a puzzle? Do we get to solve it? It looks fascinating.

Yes, it's a puzzle. There's a spoiler about it in the readme. There's also an encoded message (a separate thing)... I'm not sure if Kain translated that one or not. *nudge nudge* :D

One thing...I wish the whole thing could have been translated.

finally!
personally, i don't really give a [censored] about voices, morrowind's text based system was plenty for me :P

Thank You Adash Team and Walkerinshadows!

quick question though: any known incompatibilities? level recommendation? can i bring a companion?

Hello, Walkerinshadows.
I followed closely your work with this challenging translation and the sensitive copy rights issues.
You solved both magnificently and and gave us generous gift.
Thank you.
Of course, it is entirely Lord Kain's fault that you had to make the translation - he could go drink beer and watch TV instead of making 752 MB mods, couldn't he? :D
Thank you both and wish me luck exploring Adash. (I am sure I'll need it.).

Thank you so much LordKain for sharing this mod with us, and awesome job WalkerInShadows getting it all translated. That must have been an enormous task. I can't wait to finally visit Adash!!

Hmm... Strange download speed from mirror 1 - 1226 KB/s... never seen such speed.
Questions:
So, do I remove Voices.BSA or keep them (readme does not say anything about deleting.)

Have the meshes been PYFFIed before packed as BSA or we have to do it manually?

What is the load order?
