Add a game mode selection?

I wouldn't mind the choice of having the ability to go right into the campaign or just start free mode and pick ur character and then ur background.

Doesn't fit TES at all because you already get to do whatever you want, whenever you want, in every game. So it's a no for me.

Not to be rude (even though it inevitably will be), but I have to say that that is the most incredibly stupid idea as having that sort of system is either redundant (you can already jump right into the main quests if you want to, and if you feel that it takes too long than these games aren't exactly for you) or also means that the game is also incredibly dumbed down as they make room for different game modes that have no business being in a TES game, which, aside from the small side games, are traditionally sandbox.

:whisper: that's been implemented since day one

If you want to go straight into the main quest go straight into the main quest

Otherwise do whatever the hell you want

I'm with the others on this... you can already do all of these things. Have you ever played a TES game before? You can play campaign, run around exploring, or just fight crap till your coffers are full of loot! No need to be limited to one through an unnecisary 'picking' system.

You basically have this option built right into the game - just do what you want.

That's pretty pointless. Since a regular elderscroll's game is all of those...

a possible reason is at the end of oblivion (when roleplayers started roleplaying) every npc would usually acknoledge u as champion or u couldnt find any rumors, they were all about martin septim, which of course is realistic but annoying if thats not what u want

another reason is if the campaign made u start out yet again in a jail or as a prisoner some people didn't like that and would enjoy a feature to get past it

another possibility for the combat is to have a practice mode (which was just an idea not thought out as u can do this in the game by playing it)

Then play an Elder Scrolls game, they're like that to begin with. The "game mode selection" takes place when you choose to play TES.

Ta-da, your wish is granted. Wasn't that fast and easy?

It just doesn't work, you don't have to go straight through the story if you don't want. I usually start the main quest and then finishing it is one of the last things I do.
