Add Mature Content

Post » Sun Feb 14, 2016 5:58 pm

The Fallout games have always had mature content.

They should add MA-17 content to Fallout Shelter.

Including but not limited to:

advlt text in dweller conversations.

advlt text in weapon and outfit descriptions.

The ability to send children into the Wasteland.

The ability to send pregnant dwellers into the Wasteland.

Any other suggestions?

i think you're suggestions are not positive for the game itself. why do you want to send out children and pregnant lady's? i think the tekst is funny and great already.

Something else to consider is the enormously overbearing requirements for an app to be published on an Apple device. You practically have to rate it for 12 and under. Google Play is a little more relaxed, but with advlt content comes changing the game's rating which would lower its distribution.

None of the ideas presented add value to the game. As I see it, "mature content" shouldn't be added for the sake of the immature.

Also the reasoning

"We have always had this"

Isn't a valid reasoning for it to continue. ie slavery, women not having the right to voting, etc. Not trying to say this is that profound an issue but this argument irks me because it just isn't relevant that things were done like X before.

Beyond that it doesn't make much business sense.

And actually on android there is a separate marketplace for advlt content games with much less visibility. It would not be a wise business decision to have advlt content for the sake of advlt content.

Also your own flawed argument doesn't work for the content you described. Fallout hasn't had pregnant women or children fighting in their games so I don't know where that came from.

Now what I wouldn't mind seeing is suggestive text from dwellers who were previous partners in making a baby. Maybe them pondering out loud what their partner is up to, or asking if they want to make another baby. Perhaps even hinting at who they'd like to hook up with or gossiping about who is hooking up with who.

That'd be pretty dynamic and cool to see.

The fighting could be made a bit more gorey with blood etc, and the deathclaws could grab someone etc, more death animations, the flamer should actually set the enemy on fire if their hitpoints run low enough and then have a flaming death sequence and a pile of ash. The missile launcher and fatman could blow the enemy apart and we see flying bits of body - too much?

Slightly more nudity perhaps?

It's a game.....ppl look way to far into games.....if people want to blow up children babies peg people kittens puppies anything they can for the simple fact.....IT IS A GAME......ive been killing anything and everything in any way possible since I was a kid and the reason being.....i know it's FAKE......i would love to see some cruel aspects of this game put out there because we are overseers A and B the vaults were more or less created as social experiments.....so if anyone wants to send someone out to their doom (pregnant child or otherwise "not nice") I say let them because again it's a game a fake simulation having no effect on any real person whatsoever.....we aren't doing this to real people. It's fake not real and people who think it's "not right" to promote this stuff grow up and worry about more important things than what people do In a fake simulation game meant to entertain people....i say bring on the massacre Bethesda open the vault doors pregnant women and children first!!

Just remember people IT'S FAKE

I don't see anything wrong in that.

To be honest, I quite like the idea (and a combination with a Karma level indicator would be great).

While this is true, we need to remember that good games provide adequate immersion. Saying "Its fake" doesn't add to the enjoyment of the product.

So what gain would you be wanting to get by sending children and pregnant women to the wastelands? This is an honest question.

While I admit I tried to send a pregnant women out because she was wasting a spot in the vault and it irritates me that they flee in an incident (but I accept it as part of the game) so I tried to see if you could send them out to the waste... and wasn't surprised you couldn't.

I don't really see how the game would be improved by these concepts that's all.

There is no benefit in sending children and pregnant women outside the vault. I wouldn't do it (good Karma Fallout player) but hate it not beeing able to decide for myself.

Fallout Shelter feels unfinished (and not very Fallout like) without choice and consequence ..

ok Vault Boy 309 I can see your point... by giving that option you create two types of game play just as you do in say Fallout 3. You play as a good role, or you play as an evil role, the choice is yours. Give karma like they do in the other games and go from there?

Just remember Google's content rules aren't fake.

Regardless what bethesda wants they'll boot them out of the play store.

So yeah, dead in the water fake or not bud.

It's not a question of morality or content. It's a question of business common sense. IE "Don't get your app kicked out of the largest most lucrative marketplace"

Try to think within the bounds of what won't get an app banned. cyber had some good ideas besides nudity which will get you booted out of the play store half the time.

The vaults were never meant to save anyone.

I'm just pointing out that all the previous Fallout games have had mature content.

Apple and Google Play rules are the limiting factors in the end.

There are books and novels about young teens/ young advlts surviving on their own. Sure they don't involve getting devoured by mutants or blowing up Fiends with shotguns, but it's not like it has to be graphicall violent, the grave icon when people die is sanitary enough.

But I agree that mature content would probably just be more hassle with little real benefit added. The overall theme of Shelter is clearly a cartoonish cutesy fictional world where people don't ever use profanity.
