Add-Ons are already getting out of hand.

What the mod does is not in the base ui on the pts. What it is a mod giving info not in the base UI. That mod has been pulling that info since before the issue was brought up to the devs on teh beta forums.

The number of people that would quit because of no mods is way lower than what in actuality would quit (these numbers are always exagerated). ANd again, looking into doesn't mean they will.

For the millionth time. Nobody is forcing you to do anything. If you're not getting into raids it's probably because you used a terrible build and aren't good enough, not because you don't have custom raid frames and a dot timer.

We are going around in circles here. It has been stated mutliple times.. that having addons that give you additional information outside of the base game options is wrong and annoying. You might not agree with that, but keep it in mind when you reply so we are not covering the same crap over and over.

Read my post^^^^^^^ dear me you reply without even reading it correctly.

and you tell yourself that but it would and that's the truth. I would just love to see them put it in permanently that way no one can moan about mods

The game doesn't need addons.

It's the people who are used to playing games with huge UI's that need them.

They are so used to reacting to the ui and watching all the timers and buttons that they don't seem to know any other playstyle exists.

ESO is about watching the fight and the enemy.

You will svck at it in the beginning because you don't know anything, but you will learn by playing.

Instead the UI users don't want to learn, they want everything available immediately.

Due to their refusal to try something new they just fall back into old habits, they simply don't seem to know any better and don' understand that some people want to play without UI aid.

So trying to explain it to them is like talking to a wall.

Dark Age of Camelot. EvE (restricted addons, nothing directly effecting game play), Darkfall, UO. Now for some that are f2p but only went f2p because of age, Lineage 2, Lineage.

The other games that allowed a lot of addons WAR (complete dead, servers shutdown), RIFT (went f2p because of dropping numbers). I can't think of another p2p game that allows extensive addons other than WoW.

Addons do not keep a large number of players. They may bring some in, but it doesn't keep a noticable number of them. Content and gameplay is what does that.

Ok in WoW enhance shamans had this addon that told the player what skill to use and when, I didn't use this's addon on my shaman and beat those who used the addon easily.

Advantage is subjective.

ZOS should have saved addon development for later in the game, maybe three to six months after launch. With the increased feedback provided by the very slick addons, the hardcoe players who you know will be playing 24/7 during early access will burn through content very quickly.

First of all that is a really big assumption that can't even be proven. And not showing stamina or mana bars has nothing to do with immersion. It has more to do with difficulty settings.

Besides how the UI looks does not really matter in the end as you will get used to it no matter how it looks.

PS: Even a thing like a combat log is more of a difficulty setting of the game then a cosmetic thing.

I tell myself that because I've hear "We're looking into it" about so many things in the video game world and can count on my hands the number of time that statement ever had anything happen. THey've said they were looking into a lot of things and many will not happen.

Addons will happen. It does not matter what you or I want. Its doesn't matter how many times you say it here or how many times I disagree with you. The add ons will happen... Hold your breath, write Congress, take a trip, what ever. The add ons WILL happen... Now comes the hard part.. GET OVER IT... :D

Now go to this site the one that is hosting the API for ESO and go to the bottom of the page where it lists all the games that they create addons for. http://www.esoui.com/community.php

The strange thing is that without addons you can't see anything.

There isn't even a combat log in the game.

Couldn't that make addons too "strong" ?

Lol three quarters of reviews among other things such as comments i've seen talk about the UI the proportion who want this are the majority and that is something you will have to accept. Like i said i want this in permanently. If i am fighting someone and i see he has wasted his resources your damn straight i am going to snare them take him down. Its apart of tactical play how else would i know that? by watching?. Nooooo and in this environment where it can be very confusing with 200 on screen at once this can be even more helpful.

Its not an assumption... Even the polls here showed a majority wanted add ons. And forgive me but can I please have my UI as I want it, instead of the way you do? Thanks...

Yup. I dont understand how nobody is seeing this.

Not having the most simple combat log built in game is what makes add-ons mandatory.

A combat log is something that doesn't directly effect combat. It is a review tool used to see what killed you, problems in your rotation, if a skill is working teh way it should. Seeing stamina and magicka will allow you to simply go "Oh he has no stamina so he cannot get away and I can just blow everything on him to kill him." Without that knowledge you would be much more hesitant anmd blowing your resources on something could reap no kill.

I played from the end of Vanilla to the near end of Mists of Pandaria, and I dont recall a time that Healbot did anything like what you're describing if it did, it was nerfed to a simple set of raid frames and mouseover macros. I've used it many time throughout the years, but chose Grid + custom mouseover macros for healing. You keep using it as a reference, but it really seems that you're completely ignorant of your comparison baseline. The most popular healing add-ons in WoW were stripped down raid frames with simple debuff indicators. In fact the primary use of most healing add-ons was to remove extra information. Which really kind of kills the whole basis of the point you're trying to make...

I'm fine with mods that help you in pve and change around your hud the way you want. The fight these guys are putting up over the pvp cheat mods seems almost out of desparation.

ZOS is attempting to create and release an innovative, new and refreshing product based around the rich ip of the Elder Scrolls in an mmo market that is in steep decline of popularity especially in western markets. Sorry guys but this product needs to be different to succeed and they have designed it that way.

I was playing Arena before probably more than half of you were even born.

Sorry but mmos are dying a slow death in this stagnant market that has been created by endless clones and rehash of ancient end-game mechanics and I sincerely hope you do not want a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy.

take 2 equal players. they fight each other 100 times and its 50/50. they are equal. give one of them information regarding the others buffs, magik, stamina, and power attacks. guess who wins?
