Add-Ons are already getting out of hand.

I can only speak for myself, but if they did that, I wouldn't have been interested in this game to begin with. It would have just been another WoW clone. I pre-ordered the game because I bought in to the Dev's vision. I drank the koolaid man. I loved their design philosophy that less is more.

Like I said previously, I don't care if others use mods. You want to crud up your game? Be my guest, as long as it does not give you an advantage.

Considering Zeni stated in a recent interview its a possibility if its wanted which it clearly is they might. There are those that don't and like to be immersed in their game world, But in a mmo and to attract that kind of audience in general its these kinda features they look for. A UI and how it is set out is a big thing for a lot of gamers who play mmos

Yes that is way pro athletes don't use performance enchaining methods. Because they are already good. :bonk:

Thats the most stupid argument ever. And so what if ZOE made it available to all? That's not the point at all. Its that not every one will have the same mods installed. And that you are "forced" to install mox X to begin with if you want to stay competitive. The fact that they dumb down the game play is not really relevant when you talk competition.

Yes they are damned if they do and damned if they don't, with the addon they get both set of players IMO.

And when they do add it this won't bother you?. Because if you guys keep going on and force their hand it will end up either that way or ESO goes down the tube and thats a guarantee you would ruin the longevity of the game

Again, this isn't about addons in general. It is about addons giving an advantage. Remove the stamina and magicka from teh stated addon and a large part of it's advantage is gone. The mod is still there, does most of what it already does, yet is a lot more fair to those that choose not to play with it.

Haha you don't know what ugly addons are if you call those ugly. The addon in the prx vid is very clean and relatively unobtrusive.

One thing is certain. Not everyone will be able to run the addons. If you load up too many addons, the overhead will take a toll on your computer performance especially during zergs in pvp unless you are playing on an i5 or better computer. I couldn't see any major lag in the video running the addon and what I'm guessing is fraps. He must be running on a heavy duty rig.

Addons don't make a game successful. Content and gameplay do.

Also again, there is nothing pointing to them adding it in if it is removed in a mod.

Not everyone will use addons for pvp only.

You really think this game will succeed or fail based on what mods this game has?! Yea right! Mods to any MMO does not enhance the longevity of any game play what so ever. Have you even played an MMO before? Because you can't have done that if you even slightly believe that mods enhance the longevity of the game.

I don't really buy the whole bit about this game needing addons.. The VAST MAJORITY of MMO titles do not allow addons at all.

No the addons involved are already implemented into said games

Given such a large group wanting and making them yes because said people are likely to move on The ESO UI svcks bigtime I play pvp i don't want immersion its a game i am not pretending to be an elf or something.

They said it was something they were looking into. Look at CD they stated that and oh look here we are two weeks later its already on the PTS.

THe only one that allows addons and is not f2p is WoW, so what is your point? I can list off a bunch of mmos that allows limited or no mods that are stil p2p.

I don't think add ons should be allowed in a pvp mmo unless it's an add on you can chose in the game.

The curse library of MMO titles is a fair gauge in all of this. There are 11 diffrent titles in their addon library and only 7 of those are MMO titles. At the end of the day addon support is limited to a small percentage of overall games.

This is another issue that is going to be pretty strong in the hearts of the ES fans. Most of the changes made to this game over the past few months have been aimed at those fans.

Requiring people to download a bucket of mods to cover the screen is going to be a huge puttoff.
