I'm like an angry drunk. I know the rampant, unfounded outrage and unsupported claims are going to drive me into a fury, but I just can't - close - the tab.

Yeah. I'm pretty sure we're all addicted to this board.

Let's take a look at the other boards:
Morrowind: 15,375 topcs, 204,620 replies.
Oblivion: 27,579 topics, 365,303 replies.

And now Skyrim: 4,666 topics, 164,657 replies. Keep in mind Morrowind and Oblivion has been out for years. We've only known about Skyrim for what? Almost two months now? :D

Edit* not to mention that is all sub-forums combined for Morrowind and Oblivion. We only have general for Skyrim.

Good point.

Edit* Probably because it's not about Skyrim. It's about a forum board  That's my guess anyway.

It's pretty bad, but nothing was worse than the speculation thread (especially as events and our speculated times of interest drew near).

well people who are addicted to the skyrim board aren't gonna be on the community board, so the topic wont reach it's target users.

well, i guess if it's the rules though... theres nothing i can do.

I'm here for Community Discussion. Speculating about New Vegas was great fun, but it kinda made me bored faster with the game when I already knew about everything. So I'm gonna dive into Skyrim knowing hardly anything.

Ya'll's crazy

What could be some really great polls and discussion of feature issues ... more often than not turn into diatribes about the end of the world for gaming.

18 skills -- somehow that is just unbearable for some -- especially when so very little is actually known.

Much like the general discussion boards for this site - I stay away more often than not for my own sanity.

Prefer instead the modding forums where folks are more proactive in solving problems and rarely ever discuss fears of things unknown or broken dreams of how great it all could have been (for a game that 10 months away).

Y'all are crazy. its 10 months away. Theres barely any information on it too. I don't know what all the hoopla is about over there. Maybe after e3 2011 and details have been released but come on guys, calm down until then.

But...but they removed spell making. While I'm not too fussed (i'll pass judgement when I get it). Others are foaming at the mouth. It's so funny to read.

I've been on these forums sin 2002. I don't spend much time here until there's a new game looming. Did it with Morrowind, did it with Oblivion, and here I am again. It's the anticipation I think, and most people I know in real life care only about FPS. I hate FPS for the most part. So with places like this I can talk to other like minded individuals about the awesomeness that is/are RPGs, and in this case in particular, the bar raising and standard setting RPG series of Elder Scrolls. A favorite since 1994. Jebus I'm showing my age.

Haha, when I read the UI update I knew people were going to be fuming! It's entertaining as long as you don't get dragged into it, or if things get personal.
I'll probably stop coming on here so often after the GI updates finish (I think there's a podcast to come or something?), as I don't think there'll be anything new for a while.

Personally, I wanna find stuff out by playing it. So I haven't been seeking scraps of information, and don't feel any compulsion to pvssyr away about it .

The one thing I do have to say about it relates to the release date: it being http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rememberance_Day bothers me slightly.

EDIT: And the prospect of a new engine is quite interesting.

I've spent maybe 1/2 hour total on the Skyrim board....I don't want to know about it until it's released, and there seems to be way too much "what if", and "what Skyrim needs" and "wouldn't it be kewl if", for me to be interested.

I don't want to know. I spend more time in the Morrowind forums and the Community Discussion forum. The time will come to hang out in the Skyrim forum, but it's not now.

Its pissing me off actually, It won't be long before I stop coming here, btw the time I start New Vegas(for my Birthday in a month). I did the same for other Beth games, come on here a bunch when the first info came out, then stop checking. I won't watch any extensive gameplay fotage and i don't want to know lots of quest details. But basic gameplay mechanics I like to know, just to make sure my expectations are met and I don't get disappointment. But really right now I am addicted.

Oh and if the Todd Howard interview answers some of my key questions, then I may stop after that.
