Adding a Backpack to a weapon

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 12:49 am

Im trying to edit the gatling laser, turning it in to an E-web.. but every time I export the Nif in Blender I don't get the backpack in the correct location. I think its an Export issue But im not sure.

or is it a limitation with Nifscripts?

tis is a showing of the diff in the Nif Trees

the backpack ninode needs a nistringextradata node> this is what tells the game that it should be attached to one of the spine bones. it's likely that blender didn't export one. just create one in nifskope. look at the vanilla weapon to see what you have to put in the string data and Name fields.

also note, as you are aligning things to bones, that the transforms of the backpack ninode and the backpack mesh object are important to how it is actually positioned on the character when equiped. make sure those numbers on your nif and the vanilla one are matching.
