Adding femalemale-only armor to the leveled list

Post » Fri Apr 10, 2015 1:21 am

Hello,

There are a lot of nice armor mods available. Most of them are only craftable or you can find them somewhere hidden. Now, I would like to take these mods and add them to the leveled list (for personal use) so I can find them in chests around Skyrim and on (especially) NPCs. I know how to put items in the leveled list. But my question is;

Will female-only or male-only armor spawn on the wrong gender? And if that's the case, is there a way to solve this?

Thanks

Adding them to a chest list would be OK, as you could pick and choose which armors to take.

As for NPCs, I don't know if they have a way to choose Female or Male versions. But there is way to find out. Load the game in the CS and look at male and female armor and see if there is a check box somewhere that denotes the gender. If so, more than likely the game uses that. Stock, there is a male and female version of armors and clothing, but I dont' know if there is any stuff specific to one gender or the other, or if they just made two of everything. Then look at an armor mod that replaces (not just offers) only female, or male armor, and see how those are denoted.

Every piece of armour/clothing uses one or more "ArmorAddOns".

This is where the actual meshes used are decided, along with which Races it will appear on. There's a separate section for which meshes the male characters will use, and which meshes the female character will use. If the Armor is mono-six, then you could modify it's ArmorAddOn to be use something generic as its mesh for the opposite Gender. It is easy enough to do, but you would have to make sure the replacement covered the same slots (i.e., if you change a dress that counts as leg-wear and torso-wear, you'd want to add a piece of armor that included both legs and torso, otherwise the PC/NPCs legs/torso would disappear when they put the armor on)
