Adding Items to Dremora_Summon

Post » Tue Jan 19, 2016 10:48 pm

This is so awkward. I have been adding items (mainly Leveled) ad lib to many a Summon, and it works so well that i didn't see this one coming. Ages ago i gave the Dremora Summon a couple of bombs (4) to throw or trade, and recently i changed the quantitiy to 16.

Today I added some more at higher levels, but to my horror, 'tfh still showed the four -ILI entries. That is: with Heroes who had already summoned Dremoras themselves or may have encountered adversaries who did so. I consoled a summon dremora spell to a very young hero, and she had the new lists.

My guess is that once a dremora is summoned anywhere in the heroes life, its Inventory List is instantiated, and there's no way to remove that ingame. There may be tools that can do so, which i'm unaware of, but would really like to get acquainted with.

It's so weird that I can add anything to a Ghost or Skeleton, and it's there. The Dremora (and maybe others) seem(s) to be an exception. I haven't found a way to change the creature that is summoned by this effect, and i wouldn't like to have to restart my now L39 with his 240 Endurance or my 13 year old L83 Uber Bosmer once more just to get this minor update working.

I have already reserved an area in the mod for (a) statue(s) to the one(s) who help(s) me out on this one. It's a place that will spawn Dremora Summons at PCLevel+Luck dependant intervals. I hope that one day these Dremoras will have their max 80 bombs (L65+) in stead of the current max 4. And the scrolls. And the deadly weapons that suit their scripted per-level health / strength / agility increase.

if you did not use AddToLevItem to add to standard leveled lists and can delete all spawned dremora, a simple way could be using a http://wiki.theassimilationlab.com/mmw/Wrye_Mash:Saves_Tab#Remove, that is, a tab-separated text file as simple as listing the object-id-whose-instances-you-want-removed-from-save, tab, plus object name (or, as I use to do, a simple "" empty string), e.g.
# this is a comment starting with #
# removing GoToJail guards instances from save
gtj_guard_hlaalu ""
gtj_guard_imperial ""
gtj_guard_imperial1 ""
I am not 100% sure this will nuke any related leveled list info, but it is easy/fast to try (make a backup save)

Thank you, abot. I have tried it, but Alas Ancestral Tomb, it didn't work. First I Clicked another option in the WMSA Remover Menu (didn't notice the added dremsum entry) and the save went from 6M to 4M, could still be played, but when i summonedd the Dremora, he still had his poor weapon and only a couple of bombs. I killed it with my Golden Axe, summoned anoher, nope. Still the old list.

Thanks for your advice to make a backup!

Then i did a trick : rename the save to a TXT, opened it with notepad and did a search on 'dremora_summon'. I found it, with CREA in front of it. And indeed: it had the old weapon LI and a Container with the name of the Bombs list. And I had been looking for Save Game Editors and DLd Enchanted Editor. I decided to install it.

I immediately found the offending CREA record, rightclick deleted it, and pushed the Save button, Quickstarted the Game, and summoned another Dremora. And there he was. Deadly as Hell!

But even if your trick didn't work out all that well, i looked into some of the prefab removers. Noticed some very interesting creatures there, and fortunately with the modnames as well. And so you have opened yet another Pandora Box full of Christmas Presents.

I seriously don't think any Modding Community is as Creative as Morrowind's. And I wish all of you a Great Christmas and a Grand New Year!

It keeps bogging me why (fortunately only a very small subset of the) Game's Creatures is included in a savefiles. Why Twilight in and Saint not? Why Grahl 1,2 and 5 in and 3,4 not?

I know i should have uninstalled Echanted Editor right after the problem was solved, but curiosity got the better of me, and the more i delve into the File structure, the more fascinated i am. There's a Faction part. House Hlaalu and Redoran are in, but the Hero is in neither. Maybe she did something for some free quest, like returning Alexa to Soshan (the Redguard couple near Khuul). I do those kinds of things. These entries can be explained.

But the Creature Criteria ? I haven't got a clue. And when a creatue is in the save, one can edit it all one wants, but none of the changes will show up in the game. Knowing the criteria might help avoid such traps. So if anyone would have any suggestion?

Of course I'll never uninstall EE. It's a beautiful Tool with some really fine Credits and i've only scratched its surface. People who make things like that should get a fee from Bethesda.
