With your logic, the Aurora should be in every game, regardless or setting, just because it's "beautiful". I think making sure something has a rational explanation, in-game or real, is much better than "it's purdy, put it in." If that's the kinda of story you enjoy, good for you. Doesn't do it for me, though.
