[RELz] Adense Epic Dungeon

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 7:26 pm

Hi, Adense!
Was testing all morning, very very good! havent seen elaborate dungeon like that since CORE 1, man!
Only thing - don't know why but I get CTD any time I try to enter the crypt. Tried both entrances, about 20 times, same result. Can post Load Order if you say so.
Had couple of CTDs entering the Voidkeep but with careful tinkering 1st and 3rd person managed to enter.
Hope can be fixed because am more curious than the proverbial cat!

By the way, the entrance to the fort, with so many goodies you should rename it to Santa's Backyard! :D

Try and redownload the file again. There was some meshes missing first, but I have fixed it. It could be this.

Wow, I love your use of color and lighting. Very, very dramatic!

I consider Hellbishop to be a kind of expert on what's a good dungeon is and what isn't a good dungeon, so if he says this is a good dungeon that's a real Stamp of Approval with me. I'm about to start a new game soon so I am going to install this for sure. I can't wait to see some of these colorful rooms in person. Thank you!

Thanks Pseron Wyrd feels good to read such words from a master writer as yourself :foodndrink:

Played this a bit last night and even before entering this dungeon world of madness i was mixed with a sense of awe and dread as i gazed upon the entrance inviting me like some menacing statue of unknown ancient origin on Easter Island. Reminded me of one of the movie versions of HG Wells TIME MACHINE with the underground beast race enslaving the humans where the hero sees this mysterious entrance for the very first time.

Once inside i realized the solemn looking entrance was just a hint of things to come for once inside this strange structure i felt a disconnect instantly with the outside world entering a dream a..nightmare of lovecraftian daggerfallian proportions. A place where my mind was made..wide awake and my flesh made into a wispy mist floating in the darkness of some godlike immortal beings conciousness.

Truly Adense Epic Dungeon it is. Thank you GrandDukeAdense :obliviongate: :foodndrink: :obliviongate:

Hail GrandDukeAdense! Opening a door to somewhere else which touches us like a kiss to the forehead invisible.

If you ask me (come on.... ask me), the only thing better than a new dungeon is an epic new dungeon.

Grom gro-Karrack is set as Essential in the version I have. I just re-downloaded it from your nexus link. Could be why he's alive in my game.

Thank you for the bug report. All these bugs will be fixed in the 1.2 release! It might come out this week, if I get enough free time for it.

Got this bookmarked. I will give it a shot once I'm done with the second version of Viconia DeVir. Not much time for playing I'm afraid.

Looks fantastic! And unique dungeons are so rare. Its definitely something Oblivion needs more of.

Yes he should :P I can remember how one of my testers said that he was alive, just standing there, so I made him dead ;) Are you using the latest version, or have I somehow missed to set his health to 0??

There is an easy fix for that. Just tick the quest item box on the Orc's NPC entry. Otherwise dead NPCs/creatures will stand up even with 0 health.

Seems odd that I never has experienced o health characters without that box tixed being resurrected before :o I have made so many countless creatures and npcs with zero health... :P

Hehe. Yeah its weird like that. I created a dead goat in a market with 0 health and neglected to tick that box. First few times I tested it, the thing was happily lying there dead. But later I went in and it was standing up alive. I then noticed that all the "dead" creatures and npcs in vanilla were ticked with quest. So I did that and the silly critter stayed dead permanently in the spot I had collision dropped it.

Aha! :D :P

Some people have reported CTDs when entering the crypt in the fort ruin. Since I don't experience that, my guess is that I have somehow missed to include a necesarry model or something like that! No idea what I have missed to include though :P

I will do my best by this week's weekend to fix all the issues. I have no time for that before then. I will try and go to jail with this mod too and see what happens. I have not even touched the prisons at all, so I don't know why that happens.

The 1.2 release will contain the following:

-Bug with the Crypt fixed
-A mini-quest to get a companion who helps you in the dungeon
-A real boss-fight
-More details added to most of the areas
-Other minor bugs will be fixed as well

-I will also try to make a fight between Vaermina's avatar and Malacath's avatar. You will be on a platform overlooking the battle. Could be cool I think!!! ;)

Only just started this dungeon and it looks fantastic! Most modders make their dungeons too bright IMO, but not this one. :)

Two minor problems so far:

1. The shattered golem right at the start - parts of it is floating. Could be a havok problem on my machine, though.

2. There is a hole in the dungeon wall on the right hand side right after the shattered golem.

I see a version 1.2 is imminent, so I think I try this mod then instead.

Will check for that hole in the ground. And the floating golem, it's probably just a havok issue.

This is just to report that I also have persistent crashes when trying to enter the Voidkeep and the Fort Crypt. Seeing there isn't an update yet, I'll go somewhere else for now...

...but the dungeon looks very good. Definite epic as it says. I look forward to the new version.

Three technical issues:
(1) In the portal chamber, just part the entrance, you can crawl between rocks to the right into the void.
(2) When I jumped down the hole at the end of the portal chamber, I landed in water - but outside the static meshes.
(3) There are a few places where you step on some piece of floor and just die. Without any explanation, any noticable damage, spells, falling rocks, darts from the wall, nothing. You just die. One of those places is in the portal chamber, just in front of the fake Ayleid door, one near the first barracks door, and a third in the area you reach when you go through the door at the bottom of the shaft. Explore the right dead-end corridor and you die.
