Adjustable anolog stick sensitivity

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 4:18 pm

After years of complaining that I could never find a "sweet spot" for controller sensitivity, Unreal Tournament 3 included an option called "anolog sensitivity." Whereas controller sensitivity determines how quickly you turn, anolog sensitivity corresponds to how far you have to push the stick for it to respond. In UT3, I was able to turn the anolog sensitivity completely off, meaning my reticle only moved when my stick was pressed all the way in one direction.

While this may sound unimportant, it gave me an enormous degree of control and precision. I no longer pushed the stick slightly in an effort to predict how the developer of a game felt counted as "moving"--instead I turned left and had complete control. I was finally capable of no-scoping and headshotting consistently (although, thankfully, these features seem to be either of diminshed importance or completely irrelevant in Brink).

With the tremendous amount of customization in Brink, does anyone know if anolog stick sensitivity will be able to be adjusted?

Same here but I can't remember hearing anything specific.

I have no doubt that the sensitivity can be adjusted, but I don't think it will be like you said you had in Unreal Tournament. Most console shooters just have sensitivity and inversion, not a different sensitivity TYPE, if that makes any sense.

As I understand you post, tilting the stick slightly didn't move your reticle, you had to tilt your stick all the way in any direction for the reticle to move at all. If I have that right, then my above statement applies as my speculation.

It is, yes. All controls are 100% customisable. I've lost my bloody link.

Compendium? I put it in my sig today, for ease of access. You gotta throw that at people all day long, so... nice and easy.

You can remap the button-layout.

I haven't heard anything detailed about controller-sensitivity thus far.

I am seeing more and more games adding the sensitiity sliders and i hope with every little detail SD is looking at they will also look into adding the sliders, i dont see why they wouldnt other then maybe cause turning the sensitivity down limits some precise movement and maybe some mid-smart adjustments. maybe not though

I hope they have quick sensiitivity. I play with 10 sensitivity in CoD. If they have anything faster than that, I'm set

You understand me completely. Your answer makes sense, but I still have my fingers crossed.
