That being said, I searched the forums and couldn't seem to find a firm answer on what kind of advancement system the game will be using. If someone could clear this up for me that would be awesome. I love the advancement systems already in place in Fallout 3 and in New Vegas. If they continue with this, the game will definitely be successful as are their predecessors. This system is very rich, and holds countless varieties.
I personally hope they continue with idea, but I don't want to spend hundreds of hours trying to reach maximum level like most other MMO's... If the pace was kept at the same rate as the previous titles, I think the game will be highly enjoyable. I don't believe your ingame capabilities should be hindered much by how many hours you have spent surviving in the wasteland and finding "epic" gear, however, it seems logical your character should have certain benefits from all his playing experience. A level cap around 30 would be much appreciated :] This way, you can still advance certain skills of your choosing, while at the same time, that bountiful amount of max-level players will have to depend on the skills and attributes they chose as well as their own personal FPS and strategic skills. Rare equipment is great, but if grinding for rares is going to be the main purpose of the game I'm sure a lot of customers will be disappointed.
I guess the point of my post is that your ingame capabilities should mostly rely on personal strategy and skill, as well as character build, rather than who's got the best armor or gun. However the game is done, I'm sure I'll be pleased with the result. I'm just glad to finally play an MMO FPS RPG, and without all that turn/time based combat crap everyone else is doing. I can't wait to play with my friends and plant landmines in their pockets.
Be gentle, this is my first post.
