Adventures of Naya

This is a report I made a while back for my Dark Elf Mage. I'm sorry for my grammar, English is not my native language. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it!

1. The beginning

Usually, I write these character reports for two reasons. First, to serve me as a reminder (to know what have I done and where have I been) and second, to complete a certain goal with my character. Of course, my main goal is to pass the game, but that's not what I mean. I created Naya to be a mage, and a typical dungeon crawler. But that's not all. My focus is to explore the area of Red Mountain (Ghostgate). I always avoided that place like a plague and with good reason: monsters are there insanely powerful. So, let's go!
One interesting thing: during the creation of this character I have selected my face and hair at random.
Once free of Ergalla, I went to the other room and looted almost everything. Then I traded at Arille, red the book in the lighthouse and the other one in that killer's shack (mercantile book). After that I went to the dungeon near the town.
I freed all three slaves, at the entrance I looted the mushrooms and then with the silt strider I traveled to Balmora (I really didn't feel like walking).

2. Missing mushrooms

Once in Balmora, I immediately went to Ra'Virr to trade. After that, I looted the boxes around the city as well as Bosmer's house (the smith) and then went to the Mage Guild. Once joined, I went to the lower floor. I bought a few spells and created a cheap chameleon spell so I can train myself.
The Khajitt woman gave me my first quest: to bring her some mushrooms.
Just as I was about to slam my mushrooms (that I collected in Seyda Neen in advance) on her table with a satisfied grin, I realized that I needed one more!
Great. After that, I talked to the other lovely lady and I'm teleported to Caldera.

3. First visit to Creeper

Here, I stole the entire master alchemist's set and I immediately mixed some ingredients. Surprisingly, I gained a level in Alchemy. Then, of course, I went to my good old pal Creeper. Here, for the first time ever, I tried to exploit a bug where supposedly you can steal everything from Ghorak Manor without getting any bounty. It seems the rumors were true! In one of the boxes on the last floor, I found Orcish armor and gold and a short sword on one of the beams near the ceiling, hidden pretty well. Armor, vases, potions and other junk I sold to Creeper. I continued stealing stuff from town and selling it to Creeper. After that I went to that tomb near the Caldera stronghold.

4. First Dark Brotherhood attack

Inside the tomb, I expected ghosts but I was unpleasantly surprised when I stumbled upon a Scamp! I decided to be a little arrogant so I casted Soul Trap on Scamp and managed to kill him (barely). But, I didn't get any soul from him. Then I understood why. I have only petty soul gems. Scamp obviously doesn't "fit" in such a small Pokeball. This gave me an idea. I could collect enemy souls. I don't think I ever took this task seriously in Morrowind.
All this spell casting drained my energy, so I decided to take a little nap and guess who shows up? Our friend DBA (Dark Brotherhood Assassin).
I managed to escape from the tomb with him behind my heels and decided to sleep for six hours under a star covered sky. After that I casted Shield and my power – Ancestor Guardian. Buffed like that, I killed the assassin and have taken all his gear.
I continued my search through tomb and once again, I was unpleasantly surprised when I found out a new Scamp on the same place where the old one has been! I killed him and continued on. I stumbled upon a Skeleton. I casted Soul Trap and then killed him with Fire Bite. Haha! My first soul. Value: 300.
The question now is should I sell it or use it for enchant?
In the last room I met another Scamp which I killed barely, as my health and mana were pretty low. I have spent about 20 Probes on a trapped chest just to find a common amulet. Jesus Christ.
Once I was outside the tomb again, I heard battle music, but I didn't understood who was attacking me. After a few moments, a diseased Kagouti showed up behind my back which almost killed me! That was a little strange.
I'm still level 1, why has a diseased monster showed up?

5. My first two deaths

I sold more stuff at the Creeper and now my bank account is over 10,000 gold! Jesus, and it's only the third day (in the game). I'm wondering how to spend all this money. I already have an idea in my head for this enchantment – Chameleon 100% for 2 seconds on self. In that case, I became invisible, and steal everything I can in these 2 seconds. We shall see.
Unfortunately, Creeper didn't have any money left, so I had to wait for his money to "respawn". In the meantime, I have decided to visit the local Caldera Mines which I heard so much about. There, I explored a little bit and released three slaves. When I was about to leave the mines, I met a Bosmer near an entrance to a dungeon. I killed him and ventured inside where three women attacked me simultaneously and I died, for the first time!
I loaded the game, and this time went straight to Caldera. After another little visit to Creeper, I'm finally headed to Ghostgate. I decide that the fastest way is across the mountains on the northeast.
Once across, I was greeted with dry and ugly surroundings, which are packed, literally PACKED with Cliff Racers. These battles with Racers have taken a toll on my energy, so I decided to rest under a rock. Wrong choice because guess who awakens me from my slumber? That's right! DBA number 2! He also killed me, so i loaded and decided to continue on, all wounded and weathered.

6. Ghostgate

Somehow I managed to reach Ghostgate all in one piece and I stumbled inside. Here has begun my exploration. I have red a crapload of books and gained a level up! Then, in search of a bed, I met a smith who had a HUGE collection of Glass items. Drooling all over his wares, I gave myself another goal: when I become stronger, I will return here and steal everything from him!
After that I went to a room opposite the smith, which was some kind of sleeping quarters. Two guards in glass armors were patrolling this area and I was afraid to lie down on a bed, to not get the message: your crime has been reported. But, I decided to risk it anyway, so I went behind the corner where nobody saw me, entered the sneak mode and clicked on the bed. Strangely, it worked. I slept a calm sleep, without any interuptions from assassins.
I don't know why, but I was pretty sure I'm level 4 or something, but I'm only level 2! I put points into Intelligence, Endurance and Agility (all of them had an x2 multiplier). It was time for me to leave this magical place.

7. Struggle at the Ghostfence

I left Ghostgate and went right, toward the west. I tried to stick with the Ghostfence but that's more or less impossible as it is surrounded by steep hills. I was a little bored so I decided to hunt for souls. I killed a rat and a Cliff Racer. Rat's soul value is 100 and Cliff Racer's 200. Conclusion: avoid Rats (and Racers too).
I continued on, trying to have Ghostfence visible at my right side at all times. But, as I said, because of steep hills I constantly had to make big circles to avoid them. In this wilderness i encountered enemy after enemy. I killed a Nix Hound and two Racers. I decided to rest and DBA 2 appeared again! I knew he would kill me, but I still tried to outsmart him. I casted Ancestor Guardian and Shield, just like the first time. Then I started hitting him with my Spark ring, Spark magic and in the end, with my own dagger. Surprisingly, I killed him, but it was very close. I disposed of his corpse and finally slept in peace.
After some time of my journey, I encountered a new unpassable hill. I decided to rest and mix some potions. Strangely, I discovered that Racer Plumes + Kwama Root make a levitation potion. From seven attempts, I only suceeded at two. I immediately use one to fly over the hill. Once on top, a new Cliff Racer appeared. I continued on and came across an ancestral tomb.

8. Magical spawning enemies

I entered the tomb, encountered a ghost, casted Soul trap and killed it. But just like with Scamp, nothing happened! Bah, I need a bigger gem for him too.
I didn't find anything interesting in the tomb. However, when I left the tomb, I witnessed an unpleasant scene. A huge Guar's mouth was chewing at me and behind him; a Cliff Racer was beginning his painfully slow descent. Where did they come from? I went back to tomb, slept and then went back outside with my Fire Bite ready. However, the enemies were too powerful and so I had to return inside the tomb for a second nap. It was already day seven and it's all because of my sleeping.
Once again, I went outside and this time I found out that the Guar had his health intact, although I managed to damage him before. I killed both the Guar and the Racer and wanted to rest but I couldn't as "enemies were near". So I returned to the tomb for another nap on the hard stone floor. And now guess this: I leave the tomb and the Guar and the Cliff Racer are outside again, very much alive! What is this?! Groundhog Day?
I was really pissed off so I decided for my last desperate attempt: I casted my Moonshadow power (invisibility for 60 seconds on self) and started to run as fast and as far as I could. In the meantime, Ash Storm appeared and I could barely saw where I was going. But, wherever I turned, I saw a new Cliff Racer circling around. I decided to rest on a rock, healing myself with Fargoth's Ring (I can't stress enough how many times that thing saved me). But, Morrowind wiki was right, because I soon as I activated my ring, I became visible! Seconds later, I heard battle music; I turned around and saw my good bloodthirsty pal Guar running toward me. I killed him with my Fire Bite and continued on with my voyage.

9. Escape from Ghostfence

My journey from that point onward was pretty much the same. Kill few Rats and Cliff Racers, sleep, continue on. God, whose stupid idea was this?
My wanderings led me to a huge rope bridge, just like in Indiana Jones. The only problem was that it wasn't suspended over a chasm, so it wasn't so cool.
But at the end of the bridge, I came across a dead end. I started thinking about jumping from the bridge, but I probably wouldn't manage to climb back up. So I decided to drink my last levitation potion and flew over a hill. But I haven't even taken few steps forward, when already I came across another hill, even bigger than the last. So the only solution is to turn back and that's out of the question so I said, screw it and used Almsivi Intervention.

10. Failed enchantment

I was expecting to be back in Ghostgate but I was teleported to Ald Ruhn! Ah, good old civilization. I visited the temple, where I finally bought a Veloth's Helm (for healing) and then I started wandering around the town. I decided to make that boring quest were you have to return all the stolen things to their rightful owners. You know, all the debts of Ilas Sandarus or something like that (God, I'm lousy with names). After that, I visited the Mage Guild and took the quest to find the book "Chronicles of Nchuleft". I also decided to make my enchantment in these halls. I saved, just in case and then went on with my plan. Chameleon 100% on 2 seconds on self. Item: expensive ring (I didn't had anything better). Price, a real money savior: 9884 gold! However, I'm deeply dissapointed when I tried to use my new ring. I started to steal, but people saw me anyway! How? I have 100% Chameleon! Already I see that I will have to consult the FAQ. I was teleported to Caldera.

11. Meet Cassius Cosades

Once in Caldera, I sold some potions and DBA 2 gear to Creeper. In that moment I had about 14,000 gold. Jesus, I'm full of money and I don't even know how to spend it. I left Ghorak Manor and started walking toward Balmora. Yes, walking. I haven't done it in some time. My trip went okay, although I did left behind me a dead Alit, Rat and a Kwama Forager. Actually, I didn't leave them behind, I disposed their corpses.
In Balmora I finally delivered the package to Cassius. Since I was in hell and back, I expected Cassius to recognize my power, but he still greeted me with: "first thing pilgrim, you are new and here are 200 drakes." Fool. Well, okay, at least I got 200 gold although for me that's just a drop in the ocean.
I left Cassius and started looting the boxes in the streets. In one of them I found Amulet of Recall. Haha. Now all I need to buy is Amulet of Mark and I even know where. With great effort I bought the book "Chronicles of Nchuleft" at the local bookshop for a whooping 273 gold (although the book is worth 250). I was pretty sure I saw that book somewhere so I could steal it for free, but for the love of God I couldn't remember where.
I went to Fighter's Guild where I took the Dwemer Puzzle box quest. Then I visited their neighbours – Mage Guild. I finally delivered the mushrooms to Ajira and then recieved that fun quest where you have to put a fake gem in Bosmer's desk. I like that quest because it allows you to take everything from her desk. After that, she gave me the third quest to bring her some stupid flowers. I spoke with that Dark Elf at the entrance. She advances my rank by two and gives me a quest that sounds pretty tough. After chating with her I traveled back to Ald Ruhn's Mage Guild.

12. Shocker

In Ald Ruhn's Mage Guild I delivered the book to my boss and then she sent me to the end of the world in Sadrith Mora for a single potion. Jesus, would it killed them if they went by themselves? I went to the next room to try my enchanting again. I was chuckling to myself because thanks to my stolen gems I could finally create constant effect enchantment. Yes, 100% Chameleon on self. Duration: unlimited. Bwahahaha.
But, during the creation of my enchantment I don't get the option of constant effect but only "cast when used". What the...? So I decided to finally use a FAQ. After reading it, I discovered that only Golden Saints give you constant effect enchantments. Damn! And now what will I do with all these gems and cash? In the end, I decided to make a ring for 8000 gold which does 30 shock damage on touch and called it "Shocker". Now all I had to do was find some poor bastard on which to test my new toy.

13. Dwemer Puzzle box

I traveled to Sadrith Mora where I took the potion and went back to Ald Ruhn. There I delivered it to my boss. Her new asignment for me was to go to Vivec and find a book. But instead to go to Vivec, I left the Mage Guild and went to loot one of the Guard towers in Ald Ruhn. After that, I went with Sild Strider to Balmora. From there I went toward the Dwemer Puzzle box dungeon which name I can't recall. I know it's long and begins with the letter A, I think is Anghakarant or something. My lab rat for my ring Shocker is Snowy Granius on the bridge. I killed him in two hits. Haha! Well, Shocker isn't that bad after all.
I was a little cocky in Anghakarant because of my powerful ring that they almost killed me. I have forgotten that I was just a mage with 40 health.
I was even that self-assured that I went to the locked part of the dungeon. That part was full of Centurion Spiders and Sphere Centurions. I tried to cast Soul Trap on one of the Spiders but I got the message "the spell didn't acquire a target" or something like that. Hmm, interesting. So, it means that these little robots don't have a soul. Makes sense.
In that part of the dungeon I didn't found anything interesting, so once I took the Puzzle box, I went to Balmora using Almsivi Intervention.
Once in Balmora, I visited that abandoned house with a maid inside (which, btw, looks exactly like me) and a rich man's dead body. I delivered the box, went to Cassius for my new quest and then back to Mage Guild. I talked with Sha-Gra Muzgob and accepted her task. After chatting with her, I found out that she is (maybe) a necromancer. Hmm. After that I travel and where else but to Caldera.

14. Errand boy, errr, I mean girl

I checked the shops in Caldera and I'm dissapointed when I discover that no one sells Amulet/Ring of Mark and I was sure I saw it somewhere. Maybe it was in Pelegiad? Instead, I bought a Ring of Invisibility. If I ever make a Ring of Chameleon 100% on self, constant effect I will call it Ring of Sauron. Or maybe My Precious. Bwahaha.
Once again at Creeper, I sold half of my inventory and then started to contemplate on what to do next. I decided to go back to Mage Guild and then, from there I traveled to Vivec where I found the book for my boss in Ald Ruhn, which I delivered to her immediately. Anyway, to make long story short, I completed about four quests at her, one after another, going back and forth from one Mage Guild to the other. I spent a crapload of money for these voyages. If I'm a Conjurer at Mage Guild and everyone treats me with respect, then why do they charge me so much for the traveling services? At least they could cut down the prices a little bit, those bastards.
I decided that my next quest will be to go to Marandus and Punabi to find some people.
