so when do you think they will start advertising? I imagine a big billboard with a resistance guy with the game in his hand, and a brink-stache on his face with the words in big bold letters, "GOT BRINK?"

EDIT: BTW this is a parody of the got milk advertises incase you didnt know :P

The goal isn't, "why should people smoke? It's why should people smoke Lucky Strike?"

"Because happiness is knowing that whatever your doing.... is ok"

You know what would be a cool promo? If they published a little flash site that had the character customization wheel on it, with all the archetypes and builds and anything else that was available from the beginning of the game. That would be a pretty cool way to just give people a taste of the level of appearance customization, without giving away too much content. You could link your friends to it, people would be able to capture images of the character they put togetehr and use them in their sigs or avatars, etc...

So like the Spore creature creator minus the thousands of [censored] creatures that 11 year olds make.

As long as they don't pull off a Boston Bomb Scare, any advertisemant will be cool. I do like the Guerrilla Advertisemanta more than anything else. It's fun seeing people wonder what the hell something is, and have people come up with these outrageous ideas then just saying to them "No, that's for a new game." and crush their hopes and dreams. Fun times, fun times...
Actually though, another Boston Bomb Scare would be cool too... But it'd cost them a lot of money >.>

It cost advlt Swim $2,000,000 though. It's not like "Oh hey, there were some fake bombs going around, no one got hurt though." It was "There were some bombs all around Boston today, all the major roads were shut down for hours, and all places around the bombs were evacuated until bomb squads and SWAT teams could dub the areas safe."

lol, WE SHOULD GET BRINK ON CONAN!!!

But if they advertised on Conan, no one would see it.

Step1: Market Penetration (effective and cheap marketing)
Step2: Informative Marketing
Step3: Reminding Target Market
Step4: Dedicated Consumer Attention
Step5: ?
Step6: Profit

That being said, advertise NAO!

SD should take a page or two out of Dead Space 2's advertising campaign. The game is doing really well for itself.
