Advice on a character

okay got an idea on a legion character I'm wanting to try out. This is gonna be a man who basically could be described as a crazy "John the baptist" southern baptist type missionary who preaches the gospil in the desert and wilds. He seems crazy eyed, aggressive, but brutally honest man who desires to spread and if necessary shove the gospel down people's throats. He has a code, "the commandments" he calls them and views everyone as sinners who need to be shown the light. Even though he views them as sinners, he views it as his religious duty to help and guide these poor folk to the light.
Then he mets the Legion.
After hearing about Ceaser and his goals and laws, he believes and thinks Ceaser is the god he's been following all along. He has an epifamy that he's been following gods orders with a half eye, he's been to soft. He embraces Ceasers teachings whole heartily and can't wait to bring the message of Ceasers glory, the wondorous future, and the undiscriminated, brutally honest brutality that these people need in the days to come. You must set fire to the fields so that crops will one day grow.

Okay backstory and beginning story told, what is some advice u can give me for this character? Was thinking about dropping his charisma down to 1 but putting points into speech. Thinking of using western weapons and explosives, survival, and sneak. Any good ideas on perks and traits and what weapons to use to fit the theme?
Dlcs I was thinking of doing honest hearts after he officially joins the legion and goes there to kill someone in honor of being accepted in. Then have him come across dead money and there have him see the folly and easily breakable man is but start to get an uncomfortable feeling that maybe Ceaser is wrong about technology. Then comes old world blues and it becomes a living hell of technology that he must escape from and views it as Ceasers divine wrath somehow. Afterwards he fully commits his soul and body to Ceasers word and eventually does lonesome roads right before the battle of the dam and views it as his greatest spiritual trial in his religious connection to the Legions ideals. He doesn't nuke anyone because it must be gods wish to do mortal battle as a man, for if didn't want that then he coulda easily destroyed his enemies as a god.

I would say he needs a very high Charisma since I get a feeling from the back story he needs it. I would maybe go as high as 10. Since He mentioned something about needing to set fire to the fields he should focus on Fire based weapons and explosives. That fits in nicely with cleansing the soul and maybe taking the Wild Wastelands perk will fit in for the ultimate grenades.

I would not go with Sneak since he does not look like a sneaky character but more of a person that likes to get into peoples faces since he is a preacher. I even envision him that he never crouches unless it is for prayer and seeking for inspiration from God.

I also see him taking the perks based on high Charisma.

same. Charisma 9, with implant (this is allow in the legion? I doubt, but you can convenient forget)= 10

animal friend 1 and ferocious loyalty.

companion: Rex with lupa′s brain and Raul.

No explosives, with high charisma, your companions will do 50% of the job, the last thing you need is accidentally explode then.

Tag: Guns, melee, survival.

Weapons:

1) gehenna of course. You need to BURN the sinners. Take pyromaniac perk and super slam!. craft a lot of rushing water.

2) A light shining in Darkness. Just like your faith. Maria is a cool choice too. Take grunt perk.

3) Paciencia. if God had patience to create the world in six days, you must also be patient. Keep in mind that the iron sight of this weapon is odd. You need to compensate in some way. Takes time to get the trick. Also, you can use Medicine Stick too. Goes well with cowboy perk and allow you to use explosives, if you really wanted. In this case, dont use a light shining or Maria, go with misterious magnum or lucky, bouth affected by cowboy.

use a survivalist beard and that specifie slave scarf. just like this
