Advice for clean, contemporary FCOMoverhaul setup

Post » Wed Jan 28, 2015 5:03 am

I've been away from Oblivion for a while. I'd like to get my old FCOM setup working again. (I've had a great, working 100+ mod FCOM game in the past.)

Some of the FCOM / massive overhaul mod stuff seems outdated on the websites. Now that I'm turning back to Oblivion, I wonder if anyone can make sure I'm not missing on new developments as I start the challenging process to build a powerfully modded game.

What I'd like to do is get FCOM (or a better/ more recent massive overhaul mod) working on a new PC with a clean install. While there are websites out there, like http://devnull.sweetdanger.net/convergence.html, I'm curious if there's anything I should know from active modders about how to do this the right way, given several years have passed.

What basic steps do I need to take to set up a good overhauled Oblivion? Or should I simply work from the old FCOM stuff?

I just saw the next thread down, someone's written a nice guide for this. I'll try it out. Sorry if this was spam; I should've checked.
