I fu-cking hate phyco c-unt parents who try to shield they're kids from the world, I mean look at you, your parents turned you into sniveling little wimp grossed out by fu-cking pixellated [censored] and blood. I'd like to see you in real [censored] survival situatoin were violence is necessary.
Your parent messed you up dude, I feel bad for you

Bad idea, bub.

As a response to the OP I would suggest a Redguard Ranger and pump up your Strength, Speed, and Agility as much as you can each time you level up. You can't use magic but you'll usually kill enemies within just a couple of blows. To remedy the magic problem, carry lots of restore health potions and resist fire, shock, and frost potions. Also carry around crystals, torcs etc. that cast damage spells at enemies in case some enemies resist your normal weapons. You can obtain cash really fast in Arena through dungeon exploring so you shouldn't have too much trouble buying all this stuff. You can buy potions and magical items at Mages Guilds.

Sorry didn't realize that your parents won't allow you to play Arena. If you get the chance I hope I was helpful.

I would have suggested a Battlemage actually. Magic is incredibly overpowered in the game, especially if you use Spellmaker to create custom spells. Between Open, Passwall, Spell Resistance and a couple of good offensive spells (pick two elements) you can blast through the game pretty quickly. No need for health or resist potions either - just create your own spells, then the only potions you need are Restore Power. This is one of those games where warrior are actually much weaker than spellcasters (thieves are the hardest, only recommended if you want a real challenge!)

I don't know if it's been mentioned, but also make sure you can levitate to avoid lava. I really wish they would've included lava in Daggerfall; it really does make dungeons more interesting.

IK second the "go with a spellcaster" part. The Shield Spell alone is the real money maker. High Elves also have the best racial ability (paralysis immunity) by a lot - though male Dark Elves can potentially have the best starting stats. For first timers, I recommend one of those two.

I prefer making a Sorceror myself. At 100 INT and WIL, you absorb all magic coming at you. Later in the game, most enemies you should worry about are the spell casting ones, however, you won't need to worry because you just absorb their spells! Of course, you should hunt the Ohgma Infinium as soon as you can to get yourself to 100 INT and WIL, and ignore all other artifact quests until you get it at least once.

Melee classes are crazy hard in this game, if only because enemies constantly ambush you. Sure, critical strikes and extra melee or ranged damage sound great, but in practice, the enemy always hits you a few times before you can turn around to face them. This is where shield and spell absorption really help.

Oh yes Levitate is another definite win. Not just for flying over lava (the very last room in the game is full of it, and I can't imagine it being doable without Levitate) but also for getting out of pits quickly, especially if there's someone waiting at the top.

I guess a Sorcerer would be incredibly powerful mid and late game, but it must be a nightmare at the very beginning, when there are no enemy spellcasters.
