Advice from Beta Veterans

I wouldn't spent lvl points for armor types. It is better use for one type armor if you know which one you will play as me I will play on Templar and use two types weapons so only need heavy armor.

I can't quote on my mobile device, but the above is horrible advice (for the most part). If you are planning to play a build that is reliant on a lot of majika abilities, but at the same time mitigate damage, you WILL want to put skill points in light armor to boost regen and reduce stamina costs. The same would go for a build that relied on weapon abilities-you would want to equip some MA to help with stamina. I'm not saying you have to play this way, but it's good advice.

I will be happy to when they're finished.. of course the caveat is that a great back rub is never finished!

Keep an open mind about what classes can do and don't be bogged down by clich'es, just beacuse you're a sorcerer dosen't mean you haveto wear a dress and shake a stick at people.

Really for the first time in an mmo exploring is rewarded, so do it.

Dont skip the starter island, go back. Youll see how it works.

Bind a key for dodge

Lots of trading and selling goes on around the town wayshrines

At level 15 you get your second weapon but it wont be leveled. You can equip a skill from the skill tree of the second weapon you plan on using. Slot the skill and that weapon will level as you play. So when you get to 15 you have two weapon trees leveled a bit.

Learn all the emotes they are a blast. You can even start a band lol

The mail system has a cash of delivery feature. Meaning you can send someone something but you can add in how much gold you want them to send you back before they actually take the items

Dont forget to repair. Buy repair kits for when your out and about or the easier cheaper way is repair at any merchant.

Open your journal and read the quest. I dont know how many times in beta i saw people upset because they thought a quest was broken but infact they just were not doing right.

Look for those skyshards

Open every book shelf. Even book stacks on the ground. You get level ranks just like in past games.

Make sure your always eating food or drinking something. Those buffs save lives!!

Dont try swimming to the imperial city. Youve been warned.

Your bank is linked to all your characters. So all those crafting materials can be put in the bank to free up bag space and you can still craft with them even though they are not actually in your bag.

While i agree that a little side-trip to said areas wouldn't be amiss(skyshards, quest rewards, etc.); i don't believe it is required as the mobs around the first towns have been scaled nicely to accommodate brand new characters.

I will take that as a yes.

Mind you it is only a marriage of convenience.

Because XP.

in a nutshell sit down with apiece of paper and look at the classes the races the armor types and the weapon types write them all down on the paper and then pick and choose what you like and play what you like. that is my suggestion...why? because u will have a hella lot more fun playing what you WANT to play

Make sure you read all the tooltips that popup when you first open something I.E. bags, map, guild, etc. The one i missed initially was the ability to right click the map creating a way point that works with the compass. There is a help feature built in that has all this info as well. As others have said do whatever you want, as long as your having fun you cant go wrong.

Sometimes I struggle with this because I want to play two things -at the same time-.

I want a Dark Elf and a Khajiit. Simultaneously.

I highly recommend doing the starter islands, as they're a good way to get your feet wet before heading into the big city. Also, the AD story is best if you do the starter islands first and then do the quests on Auridon.

Enjoy the game however you like. Take it slow and explore. There's a lot to find and a lot of neat NPCs to meet. It's really easy to let yourself get lost in the world, and that's in a very good way!

Yeah. I'm one of those artsy fartsy people that plays based on what is aesthetically appealing as oppossed to what is min/maxed. Sometimes I get lucky and they match by coincidence though.

Lot of good tips here, but one I didn’t see (and also personally regretted not doing), is empty your backpack every time you return to town. Disassemble the gear you’re not going to use and either do you’re crafting or bank the materials for later. You will pick up tons, and I mean tons of useful crafting materials and goodies. But wasting half of more of your bag space holding onto stuff you don’t use while questing/fighting means having to either stop in the middle of good time to return to town and make space or having to stop and destroy the items. Do yourself a favor and only leave town with the things you’re going to use and you will not need to face these dilemmas, and have more time out there having fun.

P.S. If your bank gets full you can make more space easily by creating new characters, skip the into, and run straight to the bank. Since you have a shared bank between your characters you can just log into your banker characters and hold onto the excess that wouldn't fit in the bank.
