Your map has a Key. It is brought up by clicking the key symbol. It will show you the icons for many things on the map such as banks and vendors.

Many people in Beta missed this fact until they asked "Where's the Bank?" in /zone...

Oh? I figured it out by mousing over the icon and common sense. Horsehead = stables. The fire thingy typically meant "cooking fire"

The block looking fire place thing was like "crafting station" and they would always have what specific things were located there via mouseover.

However it is nice to know maybe I can just turn that on as a key or something elsewhere.

The bank is one that's a little less intuitive... Stables is one that was pretty easy to figure out...

I actually never used the bank. SHOULD HAVE (protips) but y'know.

When all the elder scrolls community sites stated their intentions to go AD. And them all saying how AD start area is so much better than the other areas. I liked it the least personally, but I don't have my own web show. Hell, I can't even get my wife to listen to me.

sorry, took it a little to personally...

I tried a lot of different classes during the beta, so the bank was the way to have each character have armor and weapons waiting in the bank for them upon creation...

and yes, the treasure chest icon is the bank...

Create a new chat tab, uncheck Zone and leave that as your default.

If you still got hours to burn after you digested all the gread advice given so far, check out the Esohead website and take a look at the classes. Or visit youtube and look videos portraiing the specific classes. Always helped me decide what to play when I saw some cool move ...
