Hi,

I've recently just gotten re-addicted to Skyrim and fallen into the same trap of all my previous characters; that is to say, trying to do everything on one play through. My Breton Mage/Archer/Assassin/Thief/Companion is now overwhelmed with quests (I've done basically 1-2 quests from EVERY faction), his skills are too spread out (destruction AND archery both in the 40s and at level 16 enemies are getting slightly stronger and my main damage skills aren't developed enough), I've gone back and forth on robes / light armor a hundred times, etc and all in all I'm fairly unsatisfied with the way I've played so far.

In the past I've always hated playing multiple characters because I don't like repeating the same intro or the same basic grind to get the game started. I also liked the idea of just being able to load up one perfect toon and do everything which (again) is proving to be impossible.

I'm looking for some advice on how others handle this. Do you just create a character with a goal in mind, play it and then retire it once you've achieved what you want to achieve? Where do you draw the line? How much do you guys generally think should be within the purview of one character? My problem is that I do want to see everything and do want to experience every quest line and faction to completion etc. I'm planning to try and split these down into some more focused characters. This is what I'm thinking of doing:

- Blitzing through the MQ with this guy as I've never finished it, just so it's done (!)

- Pure Mage doing the College and the Stormcloaks

- Thief/Assassin doing Thieves, Dark Brotherhood

- Archer / Ranger tomb raider mercenary

* Alternatively, does anyone have any suggestions on the "all or nothing" play - I was trying real hard to RP this character but I think being so versatile makes it impossible.
