Aedra or Daedra?

Post » Sun May 18, 2014 10:35 pm

I personally prefer the Daedra because they have so much more personality than the Aedra and they actually interact with mortals, they're all unique from Mehrunes Dagon the Prince of Destruction to Jyggalag the Prince of Order where as the Aedra all seem kind of mundane

Both, but leaning more to the Daedric Lords.

With the way the past two games have gone (with DLC at least) I find it difficult to be against the Daedra. They are much better than the Aedra, for at least the Daedra help me along my travels. Whether or not I have to kill a few innocents is besides the point. Usefulness outweighs the lives of the innocents 99% of the time.

"How is it that mighty gods die, yet the Daedra stand incorruptible? How is it that the Daedra forthrightly proclaim themselves to man, while the gods cower behind statues and the faithless words of traitor-priests? It is simple... they are not gods at all."

Badarse immortal gods who actually do stuff, or weak gods who don't do anything? :P

I like both, I liked worshiping the Nine in Oblivion, but enjoyed worshiping the Deedra in Skyrim.

Mara, Dibella & Kyne. The Triple Goddess for me. B)

The Daedra can be pretty cool, in a wicked sort of way, but I wouldn't worship them.

Dibella's erotic cults, or Azura's topless statues (covered up in Skyrim - what happened?) I was finally swayed by Nocturnal's outfit.

Aedra for me. It really p*sses me off that people, who do all sorts of bad things, can get blessings of the divines. This was a big change in the lore from the last Elder Scrolls. They made it so now everyone can get the blessings regardless.

But oh well. :(

I know, most of my characters will do numerous quests for Daedric princes and join the Dark Brotherhood etc. but I can still get a blessing from any of the divines

If the nightingales could http://www.uesp.net/wiki/File:SI-npc-Aurmazl_Zudeh.jpg
They'd sing http://static4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120501235310/elderscrolls/images/0/01/Palace_Dark_Seducer.png than they do
For you http://www.uesp.net/wiki/File:SI-npc-Golden_Saint_Patroller.jpg
And if the sandman brought me http://www.uesp.net/wiki/File:SI-npc-Golden_Saint_Palace_Guard.jpg
I'd want to sleep my whole life through
You brought http://teso.trewa.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/SI-npc-Golden_Saint_and_Dark_Seducer.jpg
I know that I'm the slave, http://fc06.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2010/269/1/f/golden_saint_vs__dark_seducer_by_fury_flame-d2ziofk.jpg
Still you can understand that underneath it all
http://pds.exblog.jp/pds/1/201204/02/10/b0178210_2249714.jpg and I am only a man
I would work and http://i1012.photobucket.com/albums/af247/The_Zink2/Oblivion2010-02-0319-10-40-15.jpg the whole day through

Daedra of course since overall they are much more interesting the very fact that the aedra are kinda dead kind kills the interest since they kinda are not meant to interact with their followers really. While daedra can.

Daedra, for mi'lady Nocturnal. Also, why no 'neither' option? Obviously you can't be an atheist in Skyrim (considering you can't not believe in something that tried to kill you and burn all of Tamriel), but you still can refuse to worship them.

Aedra are "dead" beings, broken and sleeping that cling to life through worship of mortals, they are nothing but sub-gradients whereas the Daedra are absolute. They exist no matter what, if they lose worshipers they are still around, if they are banished from Mundus they are still around, if their bodies on the mortal plane are destroyed they are still around.
