Aethurius Idea

Post » Fri Sep 02, 2011 3:01 pm

I'm thinking about the Mantellan Crux, a location inside Aetherius which was a prison for the Mantella, a Giant Green Gem made from the soul of Zurin Arctus or Ysmir Wulfharth which originally had the Heart of Lorkhan in it. Which was used as the heart of Numidium "The Brass God". This was all related and was leading up to the disappearance of the Dwemer. It would be a amazing twist with that realm to see the Warp of the West still taking place within Aetherius and to physically see a Realm of conflicting events colliding at each other and the only reason you're in that realm is to untangle the mess. Which is a conundrum that cannot be solved and echoes of the warp have formed in Aethurius, and has already at the time of Oblivion been happening for about 300 years without resolution. It would also be fitting if it was Jyggalag that gave you the quest as his attempt to have the Warp of the West straightened out and has been plotting fixing it since his release in the Shivering Isles.

There would not be just one main enemy, you could have multiple 'echoes' of the main characters involved. Mannimarco and Zurin Arcturus for instance. Maybe the Star Orphans are against the idea as well. Some possible conflicts. But the objective is the correction of the warp in the west. With the outcome maybe resulting in the Dwemer returning to Nirn. If that is the case I'd like whoever is leading the dwemer to say something at the end like "Were not ready to go back yet, but when we do people will know" Nice and cryptic. Or any other idea that would be fitting is welcome.

It would be up to the developers(and maybe us) to hammer out the details. But the idea is that you are fixing the warp in the west. Since it happens in Aethurius it could be explained that a series of unknown events occurred in the realm of Aethurius and the result was the Dwemer returning. Let's you have choices and a scapegoat in order to fit it into the Lore. It wouldn't be another warp in the west. Could be a DLC that sets the groundwork for a future TES game in which the Dwemer return maybe? Plus who doesn't want to see the Star Orphans(Essentially cousins of the Aedric Spirits) and the Dreamsleeve, where souls are recycled?

No, no he's not. Daedric Princes literally cannot die. It's not possible. He's out and about in the waters of Oblivion, either wandering aimlessly or becoming a new plane unto himself, but he's definitely not dead.

Also I do feel the need to point out that this has absolutely nothing to do with OP's idea, which does sound kinda neat but also goes against lore since the goings-on upon Nirn have nothing to do with what happens in Aetherius, and also it was Word-of-God confirmed that the Dwemer were all transubstantiated into the divine skin of Numidium. They didn't go to Aetherius. They're gone and they're not coming back and damn it that's the way it should be. Their role is a lost ancient race who left behind artifacts that nobody really understands. Suddenly bringing them back would cheapen the setting.

Well if the links are 404ing then just go to UESP and look up the lore on Aethurius and the Dwemer. Just provided the links as background lore related to the subject

And Jyggalag is not dead. In fact we freed him from the eternal cycle of invading and reconquering his own realm during the Greymarch and he is released back as a full blown DP. Supposedly he was at one point the most powerful Daedric prince.

@Gronn, Jyggalag is the Daedric Prince of Order. More so than Peryite. Peryite must have severe self worth issues as a DP as a result lol. Anyways this WOULD be a Daedric Prince DLC.

The dwemer part was an idea of a result. Not necessarily the focus. The focus is Jyggalag trying to make order out of Chaos. I know it is a bit far fetched and goes slightly against the lore but I think it would be incredible if we could make a workaround way of it working via loopholes. Would also give a chance to expound on the newest DP Jyggalag and explain a bit about the afterlife in TES. But not too much. Got to keep the mystery but some more tidbits for us to munch on.
