I don't think we'll be any less restricted where we go than the other games... any reason for your fears?

Well i see many restriction on character creation and handling, but not on freedom of movement.
I guess all can change on TES, but that won t in the end it will be the only thing remaining, even if in 2D.

You're talking about the game being divided in cells?

What are you talking about? TES is open free world exploring. It is its core. The story and quests are just there to fill it up(and they are good at that too).

Now there are more way to customize your avatar, scars, war paint, etc. Now you have perks to better differentiate different build types. So instead of Blunt/axes your now have perks for both. Same with Swords and Daggers.

You are quite right: In Skyrim you are going to be restricted, to the boundaries of the province, just like in Cyrodiil.

But hopefully one of the first mods would remove the boundary.

I think I know what he was trying to tell... There are regional maps right? Maybe he thinks there will be loading screens between the regions? Oh my GOD!! I hope he is wrong :stare:

He/she jumps on here, makes a two sentence thread stating there is a problem without providing any reasoning for it, and then doesn't even stick around a couple of minutes to reply. Seems like they 'don't really want an answer' to me. Anyways, there is already another thread on this exact topic, with at least some reasoning from the OP that already has a discussion.

EDIT - Referring to this thread BTW: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1165394-is-skyrim-still-sandbox/

May be I am wrong but I recall reading about every region having a seperate map instead of one big map

Really? That does not bode well. So we will be locked out from certain regions?

Do you mean the different regions (volcanic, tundra, fall forest, snow) will be separate cells and you will have to load into them like you load into cities and dungeons in oblivion.

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/File:OB-regionMap-All.jpg do not equal different cells. Smaller maps detailing each region dont' mean they have their own cells either. I'd emagine you'll have a nice big map, and then ya can zoom in to a region map so each region can be done in greater detail. We dont' have pipboys in skyrim, so our maps can't be digital.

Ha yes the whole game is just one long straight corridor (up the 7000 stairs).

If this guy if afraid of freedom he is playing the wrong game.

Or rather, if he is afraid of a lack of freedom in games he is playing the right one!

So we'll have a normal map of the skyrim province like the cyrodiil map in oblivion?
